In the middle of tonight's debate, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush and Rand Paul spent about ten minutes trading accusations of inconsistency on immigration reform. It felt like the last ten minutes of The Departed, where almost every major character suffered a grievous injury.

Open borders Fox wants Bush, but will settle for gang of eight traitors Rubio.
Fox needs to fire Megyn. At a minimum, never have her moderate anything again. She’s not the damn prosecutor, producing evidence to pull confessions from the candidates. What a joke!
RUBIO was being pushed tonight. He was given more time. He was the first post debate interview. He’s obviously being moved up if Jeb! stumbles as a backup plan... which is why Jeb has gone ballistic with anti-Rubio ads.
Donald Trump outsmarted Faux news. He’s one step ahead of them.
The other candidates decided to try to be snake charmers and the snake bit them.
That’s the ‘conservative’ network bashing all our candidates.
Can someone (Cruz supporter) please explain to me why he supported, didn’t support, amended, asked to be passed but didn’t mean it, or what the heck he was going on amnesty?
Honestly, I don’t understand what he’s saying. It’s not clear to me.
And the Fox ate them
Overall she probably draws ten times as many viewers as she alienates.
Cruz took some heavy shots and is now taking on water.
If politicians/lawyers words don’t add up it’s usually because the truth wasn’t included in the equation.
It appears Trump avoided a minefield tonight. Smarter than the average bear.
I’m not being snarky (for a change).
I don’t understand what Cruz says about ‘immigration reform.’
Did he want it, didn’t want it, change his mind, amend it to kill it, amend it thinking that was a good idea?
Why can’t someone answer the question?
It’s kind of a big issue.
I think a fair and reliable way to get a handle on it is that Sessions credits Cruz with helping kill the gang-of-8 bill. Sessions is good for the US on immigration. He is agains the mandarins and masters of the universe (says so from time to time on the Senate floor), and if he credits Cruz, that's good enough for me.
I understand Senate games too, but didn't watch any of the gang-of-8 stuff unfold. I quit watching the senate when Obama was elected.
Not the point. It's not about viewers or at least shouldn't be. I don't know how we got news personalities moderating these debates but it's a HUGE mistake.
Definition of debate: a formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.
It is not a criminal trial! The moderators should not be allowed to cross-examine the candidates. They're being allowed to prosecute specific candidates, use the time before a national audience to manipulate the election, sway voters. I'm really pissed about this.
Great line!
Reminds me of the line from THE BEST MAN by Vidal, “He has all of the qualities of a dog, except loyalty.
“Trump Avoids the Immigration Flip-Flopping Bloodbath”
not to mention avoiding the FNC gotcha vid-clip-fest and the Trump-hating Muslim and illegal alien Trump question attacks.
I have no idea what he’s saying either.
Okay, it was a ‘poison pill amendment’ meant to kill it.
Why can’t Cruz just SAY THAT?
When Cruz weasels on this he seems very lawyerly and people don’t like lawyers.
Cruz is a brilliant guy and we need him on the SCOTUS. But he’s flubbing this question again and again.
uh...which conservative network is that?
At best, Fox promised to be “fair and balanced”, which is what all media should be. But conservative? When?
