The U.S. Secret Service escorted the Mounds police chief out of Tulsa's Mabee Center on Wednesday because he was carrying his gun, he says.
Chief Tim McDaniel was there with his family to see Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump speak. He was in uniform when he was told he either needed to check his gun or leave.
"I think it's interesting, because in Mr. Trump's debate the other night, he actually said that officers are some of the most mistreated people in the country, and I come up to see the man and I'm mistreated,” McDaniel said.
McDaniel said he didn't want to cause a scene, so he left and was escorted out

So I go to the Trump rally and go inside in this uniform, as I am on duty on my lunch break. I go in and go upstairs with my family and pick out our seats. I then get approached by either secret service, or FBI who ask me if Im part of the meet and greet!
I say no but id love to be, thinking I was fixing to get an invite. Well on the contrary, they tell me I cant be there with my gun on, and that I will have to leave or check my gun! Well I tell them I wont check my gun, and why in the world can I not be here in uniform with full credentials? They tell me its federal law and policy that a full time state certified Police officer cannot be in the audience of a presidential candidate making a speech.
Now I see cops everywhere, and granted they are part of the detail, but REALLY, you dont want a Police officer in uniform sitting in the audience? Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt Trump PRO GUN? And didnt I just hear him say in his last debate, that "police officers are some of the worst treated people in this country"? So I stand a bit confused. I did leave without incident, because its the right thing to do, but I disagree with it whole heartedly. Please note that [there] were officers present who know me!
The SS has rules and the police chief should know them, or at least not be disappointed when asked to leave. SS did their job. How did he get to his seat wearing a weapon?

That guy is lying. There is no such law and Trumps security/SS are armed, so it is not just a lie, but a bad lie.
I wonder how difficult it is for Trump’s personal protection crew to work with SS. Don’t know the guys name but if you have been watching over the previous six months you know whom I am talking about.
That is the purpose of the Secret Service. They were doing their job because they do not know if that person is who he looks like he is.

Exactly. He has to check his gun when he goes to court. What’s the difference? And for those who blame this on Mr Trump, understand that the protectee has no authority over SS beyond choosing to reject the protection.

Seems odd but let’s don’t blame Trump for this. He likely had no clue.
Ever heard of checking an officials ID with his picture on it or do you have them in your state? Besides, before Trump comes to town the SS has confided and communicated with local law enforcement officials rather extensively.
You nailed right there with “feel.” This is just what happened when Bam Bam came on the scene with his hope and change. He made them feel. GOD help us if Trump decides to change back to a liberal if he is elected.

Ever hear of assassins using uniforms and fake IDS before? The cop was not barred, his having a gun without being cleared to be within shooting distance of Trump was the issue. Not his uniform. A good cop without an anti-Trump Agenda knows the actions of the SS were justified and SOP. So his refusing to check his weapon and make a pubic issue over it is telling about this cop and his agenda. Good call by the SS.

I can’t figure out why anyone trusts him to appoint justices much less SC. He trashes Scalia and suggests his liberal sister and I trust him with appointment of any judge?

I’m glad the Secret Service is acting with such caution. Trump and those who protect him cannot be too careful, considering who his opposition is.
Obviously Trump’s mother coddled him. What I find almost hilarious are his facial expressions when someone decides to question him. That lip swells, the face goes red and any second I expect smoke to issue from his ears like a cartoon. It was real funny when it was directed at our real enemies like Megyn Kelly, other drive-by and establishment but when he decided to direct it at Cruz gave me serious pause as to HOW MUCH MR TRUMP REALLY WANTS TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

Why don't you direct a tenth of your ire towards the twin racketeers Hillary Rodham Clinton and William Jefferson Clinton, instead of candidate Trump? Both of these career criminals have spent a lifetime gaming our laws and systems, wrecking entire institutions in their quest for the all mighty dollar. Furthermore, compromising national security at the expense quite possibly of people's lives. You can add that SOB in the rainbow hut to the list of traitors most associated with damaging our nation and it's people.

In reflection, I would grant Ted Cruz four promotions to Full Bird Colonel. Unfortunately, a four star general is four additional ranks above the rank of colonel.
