Texas Gov Greg Abbott criticized President Barack Obama's plan to move ahead with possible executive actions on guns in a tweet in which he told the Commander-in-Chief to 'come & take' the state's guns.
Obama said in his weekly radio address that he is looking for ways to keep guns out of the hands of 'a dangerous few' without depending on Congress to pass a law on the fraught subject of gun control.
He plans to meet his attorney general, Loretta Lynch, on Monday to see what executive actions might be possible. Steps to strengthen background checks could come this week.
At a rally in Biloxi, Mississippi, tonight Donald Trump also pledged to undo any action Obama takes on gun control if he wins the next election.

Most people on this forum give a rousing defense to Social Security. I expect Obama to start linking guns with welfare which includes SS. He will also tie it into other Federal privileges such as traveling, education, health care, banking, etc. He will need to disarm the retired mlitary as well and that s best done by threatening retirement benefits.

So far there has been one murder with an NFA full auto weapon. Pretty low number for the number of full auto weapons out there.

I disagree. Mounting a large scale invasion won’t be done quietly or quickly. We will know they’re coming and they will have a difficult time dismounting under fire. Whether materiel is prestaged or not, blue helmets have to get to it, arm thmselves and mount operations through the most heavily armed populace in the world. Have you ever seen a UN operation? Those fools can’t get it right anywhere in the world. They will lose here too.

You are quite correct. All the bluster and oath-keeping talk is just mental masturbation. People will do whatever it takes to keep that government check coming. Yeah, they’ll bury some guns...but they won’t dig them up as long as the checks keep coming. The government will wait until Gen X is past 65 before it goes for the big grab. By then the WW2 generation will be dead. The Boomers will be mostly dead. And the last generation to enjoy the freedom of real childhood will be on the SS/Medicare dole.
