That’s why it won’t happen. The freedom loving US all be defeated from within. We are 54% of the way there. While gun control is a real issue it is also the red meat the progs are using to every attention away from the real power grabs.
Most people on this forum give a rousing defense to Social Security. I expect Obama to start linking guns with welfare which includes SS. He will also tie it into other Federal privileges such as traveling, education, health care, banking, etc. He will need to disarm the retired mlitary as well and that s best done by threatening retirement benefits.

You are quite correct. All the bluster and oath-keeping talk is just mental masturbation. People will do whatever it takes to keep that government check coming. Yeah, they’ll bury some guns...but they won’t dig them up as long as the checks keep coming. The government will wait until Gen X is past 65 before it goes for the big grab. By then the WW2 generation will be dead. The Boomers will be mostly dead. And the last generation to enjoy the freedom of real childhood will be on the SS/Medicare dole.
