Texas governor challenges Obama to 'come and take' the Lone Star state's guns

Texas Gov Greg Abbott criticized President Barack Obama's plan to move ahead with possible executive actions on guns in a tweet in which he told the Commander-in-Chief to 'come & take' the state's guns.

Obama said in his weekly radio address that he is looking for ways to keep guns out of the hands of 'a dangerous few' without depending on Congress to pass a law on the fraught subject of gun control.

He plans to meet his attorney general, Loretta Lynch, on Monday to see what executive actions might be possible. Steps to strengthen background checks could come this week.

At a rally in Biloxi, Mississippi, tonight Donald Trump also pledged to undo any action Obama takes on gun control if he wins the next election.

This plus the situation in Oregon.

Is the civil war here?

Was last year 1859 like some of us thought?

Yes, but for the time being, it's still a cold war. The enemies of the republic had better hope like hell that it never goes hot.

While they're at it, they need to quit poking us in the eye, or one day it may well go that way.

The left is counting on the government having a halibut if ever anyone slaps them with a pilchard.

I agree.

Our biggest threat is that it won’t be our local Sheriffs, State Troopers or National Guardsmen that will do his dirty work.

It’ll be foreign soldiers in bright blue helmets that have no local connections/family, no sworn duty to protect our great Constitution.

FUBO!

‘Is the civil war here?’

There’s an excellent chance Trump will win the White House. That would diffuse public outrage. In the meantime I could imagine militias all over the US holding civil disobedience events in Texas. But such events need only last until we take back the White House.

Hell yeah, Brother

Our Governor is out there kicking up the red ant piles and calling out the Brown Shirt Brigade.

Send them Obama and send plenty body bags or we can bury them for you.

Pretty soon you will see all your EPA and IRS thugs behind bars in Texas. Mark my words, they are going down in Texas. You have f(**)ked with the wrong state you traitor.

Ska-rew you, Hussein you ignorant POS. If you had any balls at all, you’d come down here to Texas, give a speech outlining how you are using executive action to restrict gun ownership “for our own good.”

But we all know how brave he is when he is behind his desk with armed guards all around....and his trusty pen.

I’m curious how many other governors will join in. Each state already has a number of its own laws that infringe gun rights.

But to put this in perspective, [just a hypothetical] machine guns are technically ‘arms’ born to defend citizens against tyranny. Yet, I am glad that machine guns are highly regulated. And so are most US citizens glad that machine guns are highly regulated.

Which means?

Progressives have perverted constitutional interpretation.

Progressives trained congress to legislate constitutional amendments. They thought that amendments were too much of a hassle. It was an easy shortcut, and now we have anarchy.

I guess we'll know for sure in less than one year if the wicked witch Hillary is defeated and California secedes. Here, let me try ...

Except this time we'll be smart enough to let the door hit them where the good Lord split them.

As for me, I'll stay here behind enemy lines in NY and post updates.

I read some German chap the riot act earlier today about this. How is adding more bureaucracy to gun transfers going to stop kooks bent on carrying out a murder suicide pact?!?

How right you are. The UN leaders are aching to be called into the US by the Muslim in Chief to stomp out a rebellion.

I say bring it. It is time to get this matter settled and over with one way or the other. It has gone on too damn long.
