Why Breitbart Website Is Fundraising For Ted Cruz…
The Conservative Tree House ^ | Nov 22, 2015 | Sundance

This is apparently one of those things that is an open, and yet non-discussed, secret.

Several people have queried why they would be getting Ted Cruz campaign donation requests/solicitation directly from Breitbart, and/or getting donation requests from Ted Cruz on Breitbart letterhead.

The answer is simple, yet perhaps like me you never knew.

The Breitbart Media Group is financially backed and funded by Hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer. Mercer was/is the originating financial backer for the Ted Cruz "Keep the Promise" (KtP 1, KtP2 and KtP3) Super-PACs. Mercer is also the financial backing behind Cambridge Analytica.

Cambridge Analytica is the receiver of the contact information provided to Breitbart when you participate in their on-line Presidential Poll.

In essence, when you participate the Breitbart poll, you are sending your personal information into a data-base controlled by the proprietary interests of Robert Mercer, Cambridge Analytica. The Ted Cruz campaign then uses the data collected to fund-raise on behalf of the Campaign.

Perhaps I'm the last person to discover that Breitbart is essentially a political operation of the Cruz campaign, but this is akin to realizing the Clinton Global Initiative is the financial underwriter for the New York Times.

While all the dots have never been fully assembled, the facts around relationship have been discussed in various articles, yet never connected:

~ Politico outlines the Robert Mercer financial underwriting/ownership of Breitbart HERE

~ Christian Science Monitor article showing how much Mercer is invested in Ted Cruz HERE The New York Times goes into greater detail HERE

~ Politico July article outlining Robert Mercer's financial underwriting of Cambridge Analytica to collect: "psychographic" analyses of voters to try to win them over with narrowly targeted micro-messages" HERE

~ FEC distribution showing Ted Cruz Leadership PAC - Pre-Presidential Bid – Paying Cambridge Analytica HERE

It would appear the entire reason for Breitbart.Com to put their Presidential Preference Poll together was to gather information on visitors for later distribution to the Ted Cruz campaign, with the expressed intention of micro-targeting those participating visitors.

Knowing all of this, it certainly makes sense now why so many people have noted that Breitbart goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid any critical mentions of their candidate, Ted Cruz.

After all, this unique and unconventional relationship means Breitbart Media has a vested financial interest in Ted Cruz's candidacy, and a profound conflict of interest for any political editorial surrounding the ongoing 2016 Presidential Primary.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and now you know ...

No keep going to BB and use the comments section, the comments are just as much the story as the article there.

My thought exactly. Explains David Barton friend of Glenn Beck involvement. Breitbart would not like this. But how can Cruz be blamed as he can’t communicate with the PAC. Exactly why Trump was correct- stop PACs.

Sundance hates Cruz and the comments there reflect that hatred. I called Sundance out on a couple things he said about Cruz, including the fact that he seems to HATE Ted Cruz’s religious appeal. So, I personally think the real hate for Cruz is that he is a Christian and that he has made his campaign around religious liberty, as well as other things. Trump and Cruz are almost identical except for the religious part.
Cruz is right to take a stand for religious freedom, as is it the VERY BASIS of the 1st amendment. It is undertake, and has been stripped away little by little over the last 50 years. It is past time for someone to stand on the issue because when it is lost and we are being jailed for religious speech, you can be sure that every gun associated with the household will be confiscated. Cruz understands that.

I don’t know what issue Sundance has with religion, other than he must’ve gotten in a bad church once (there are plenty of them) and he has written ALL OF US off.

Oh, and by the way....the ONLY candidate that Sundance supports, overlooking his flip-flops on the issues, is Trump. When I have brought these to their attention, there is nothing but vitriol in response.

any candidate can pay to be on a fund raising email blast from many many websites....Breitbart, Newsmax, Townhall.....ETC ETC ETC.

This Conservative Nuthouse blog just doesn’t apparently know how this thing is done. This is no secret. This is nothing sinister. This is just the business of email blast fundraising.

No one wants to admit that Conservative Nuthouse is a creation fully of one particular campaign........nor do they want to admit that this kind of email blast advertising is done BY MANY MANY websites and is open to ANY candidate.

You read the comments at CTH? I am not jumping to fast on this but I ain’t ignoring it either. I know some don’t want to know, they don’t care cause they have all their hopes pinned on Cruz.

As soon as you wrote that to me, I pulled up CTH and read the comments. I agree with the general sentiment therein, and will note that Breitbart London is just as horribly biased as regular Breitbart. I also attest that I've seen the weird, manipulative articles against Trump, and also noticed the shift over the past couple of days with Breitbart helping to protect Trump, whereas they've published poorly researched hit pieces on him in the past.

In one example, the author accused Trump of flip flopping on the border wall, because Trump mentioned that in some places, the geography provides a natural barrier. The idiot says this, despite the fact Trump had been making similar comments like that for months in his speeches talking about the length of wall that would be needed, and how it would be a lot less than the great wall of China. I recall, from reading the comments section, that the writer was absolutely pounded, and on his Twitter feed as well.

Breitbart occasionally puts out these retard articles, but then spends hours upon hours doing research to explain to its readers how Ben Carson didn't have a business relationship with Mannatech, because, technically, these geniuses discovered that Carson was paid through a middle man, or the money went to his charities. And then Breitbart NEVER publishes anything that is negative about Carson's positions. For example, I mentioned the TPP thing, which Breitbart only reported because they were forced to do so.

In Cruz's case, Breitbart puts out fawning articles about his immigration plan, but doesn't include details like "legalization is not off the table," that is reported by Bloomberg which questioned the Cruz team on the subject.

But you have to understand something: this has been going on for years. ALL the "conservative" media outlets have their own bias, their own financial ties and political voodoo and corruption going on in the background. There is nothing new under the sun. I noticed a long time ago that by giving my email to, say, WND or Newsmax, that Mitt Romney, and every single candidate from last election, suddenly began trying to get money from me. Even Huckabee the Huckster was pimping his name out for miracle cures or financial miracle investments that will make you really rich, or so the emails claim.

This doesn’t reflect on Cruz. It reflects on his PAC.

Cruz has no control over his PAC.

It is interesting to see how PAC’s work but has nothing to do with Cruz.

I suppose you have some evidence for this?

nor do they want to admit that this kind of email blast advertising is done BY MANY MANY websites and is open to ANY candidate.

Well, that's obvious. Even Mitt Romney still sends me emails because NewsMax probably sold him all their data. But it be quite naive to think that all that money used to buy off these media sources doesn't affect their editorial choices too.

I just love how Trump-loving “Conservative” Tree House cites left wing Politico and Rubio-loving, Establican Wall Street Journal to attack conservative Breitbart News.

Trump is a big government Democrat turned Republican, and he may be many things, but conservative ain’t one of them. Rubio is the Establicans’ preferred canidatate now that Jeb, Kasich, and Christie have fallen and they can’t get up.

Meanwhile, Cruz is the only Reagaan Conservative running for president. All the left wing sites and Establican sites are anti-Cruz. If Breitbart News is pro-Cruz, then more power to them.

Disclaimer: Yes, I’m pro-Cruz. But that doesn’t change the facts that the left and the Establicans sare scared witless of him. But I don’t think Trump is, because I don’t think he’s serious about winning the GOP nomination. Anyone who is serious about winning the GOP nomination doesn’t insult Iowa voters and doesn’t mock Bob Vander Plaats (the most influential social conservative in Iowa) like Trump has done.

It’s almost like Trump and Cruz have a secret deal in which Trump runs interference for Cruz to take out the rest of the field. But naw, that’s tin foil hat stuff.

Isn’t it?

Trump and Cruz divide on the religious factor, some say.

Evangelicals are solidly behind Trump----no matter what agit-prop Cruz puts out there. An evangelical pastor on BOR related that his evangelical congregation rose up en masse to applaud Trump's comment: "I'll bomb the crap out of the Muslims." Another 200,000 downloaded the pastor's remarks on Trump.

==========================================

Cruz likes to ballyhoo his Christian bona fides....says he's got an evangelical army on his side. The story involves his father abandoning little Ted and his mother in Canada, then finding faith and returning. Today, the father is, or isn't, a pastor in Canada (depending on who you listen to).

Also an FEC filing showing Cruz's PAC making payments to Cambridge Analytics. I also don't think there's a reason for NYTimes, Politico or the Christian Science monitor to invent a lie about a Hedge Fund manager backing Cruz, Cambridge Analytica, and Breitbart.
