LONDON: Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly sending 150,000 soldiers to Syria to wipe out the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

According to The Daily Star, he is apparently mounting an enormous military mission to take control of the terror group's stronghold of Raqqa.

Raqqa is the self-declared capital of ISIS which is patrolled by as many as 5,000 jihadi members.

Putin is set to mobilise 150,000 reservists whom he conscripted into the military earlier this week.

ISIS well flee back into Iraq where its safe.

They'll go to Europe and to the USA where they will be welcomed with open arms.

Hey Barry, why don’t you go to Syria to see for yourself how good your strategy is working?

That level of commitment will mean that the Chinese will send an equal level of troops in there. The Chinese have already committed advisers and air support.

I think it’s wonderful someone like Putin is making the evil weasel in the White House look even weaker, if that’s even possible.

I’m expecting the Joint Chiefs of community organizers to outdo their own stupidity from last week. Any time now.

Yes.

It’s quite doubtful.

And what would President Jarrett do about it if they pursued them into Iraq?

She'd put Obozo into permanent "speech-making" mode. No other U.S. action required.

I’m betting the Kenyan will use the military to defend his beloved ISIS....Oh excuse me, ISIL and start a war with the Russians. The Kenyan doesn’t have nuts unless Islamo-Nazis are in danger.

...”I think it’s just media hysterics, as usual”...

Me too.....Putin said he wouldn’t be putting actual troops on the ground in force fighting ISIS....he’s got Assads troops and Kurds fighting ISIS....if he sends any it would be out of the Caucases. Who likely will end up there.

Whatever he does he’s not going to reveal his true hand to get done what he wants...heck Obama and Kerry have been telling us for years we have ISIS on the run.....so nobody’s going to reveal their true plans.

It’s because Obama is a democrat and kept repeating ‘no boots on the ground’.

Zero didn’t foment revolution in Syria — Assad did that himself. In a world filled with jihadists, and porous borders, it’s not surprising that the situation Assad created led to a massive escalation he simply couldn’t handle. It’s not as if he was ever a popular leader, even among his own family members. Same was true of his father and predecessorin the hereditary dictatorship.

Zero’s policy of retreat in Europe led directly to Putin’s interference in and invasion of Ukraine, his bullying of formerly occupied SSRs, and any near-term future aggressions. Zero did less than nothing when Gaddafy was overthrown; he actively supported the overthrow of the Egyptian gov’t and the installation of Morsi; he’s punished Nigeria for its gays policy, while doing less than nothing about Boko Haram.

Zero’s a jihadist. That’s the bottom line. As a good lying muzzie, he also practices taqqiya, and as we remember, got caught on an open mic saying to a Russian leader that he’d have more leeway after his reelection. That turned into a disaster in 2012, resulting in his historic defeat at the hands of- oh, wait...

Putin’s made a huge misstep in Syria, doesn’t know it yet. He’s been massaged into doing it.

Putin is going to control the oil and begin to regulate the output to prop up the global oil price. While Obammy wants to bankrupt fossil fuel companies so his green energy wacko buddies can thrive, Putin is not interested in bankrupting the oil industry and his country.

yes, I agree with that

in addition, Putin seeks to control the energy supply lines (and possibly the energy itself) going to Europe especially, and elsewhere

he can do this by, first, preventing new energy pipelines from going from the gulf to Europe (the Saudis’ intended path is through Syria, which is what set off the current problems there)

then there are the narrow straights for shipping (oil tankers) lanes

and of course a strong Russian naval presence in the Med (with a primary base in Syria).... both can interdict further supplies... and helps neutralize Turkey, a country Russia definitely seeks to influence (at least to the extent of preventing the Turks from any further threats to Russian shipping through the Bospherus from Russia’s Black Sea ports in Crimea, the connection...)

anyway, it all fits the long-standing Russian geopolitical plan..... and Putin is making very good progress at it, at least from what we read today

Obama, meanwhile, just stirs up troubles which lead to thousands of deaths.... and tons of trouble for USA

Russia has nowhere near the sea or airlift capacity to do this and I doubt Iran and Turkey will allow troop transit if the Russians could get transit through Turkmenistan or Azarbaijan. Odd that the number 150K exactly matches the supposed draft callup mentioned on Drudge last week.
