If Trump was running as a Democrat, would you still support him? (Vanity)

I imagine Trump is kicking himself now for sliding into the crowded Republican race instead of the Democratic race. But who knew a few months ago that Hillary would implode leaving the Democratic race with NOBODY as a possible?

Sure Trump is enjoying a double digit percentage lead in the Repub polls, but imagine his ratings (75%? 85%?) if he ran basically unopposed as a Democrat?

Of course! Do you think anyone supports him JUST because he has an R after his name?

I would vote for Lincoln, as a Democrat

Specious hypothetical

I put the interest of my State, Ohio, and the interests of the United States, a Federal Union of States, in which we are a participant, ahead of any political party. So I would not hesitate, if someone taking the same positions in 2016, as Donald Trump & Ted Cruz are taking today, somehow won the Democratic nomination in 2016, in supporting such person, unless the Republican candidate was just as strong or stronger in those same positions.

It is about preserving American values, culture & multi-generational achievements, that this is all about. Not just vindicating a political Party.

Yes. If he thought he could win as a Rat, he would run as a right, and his message would be totally different.

If someone other than Cruz is running against him, I’d consider it.

Trump would have to suck 90% of his brains out to be a RAT.

Yeah? Well, he has been a “RAT” in the past. So estimate for us please what percentage of his brains does he have left?

I asked this question of one Trump supporter:

Q. If Anthony Weiner were to run and was saying all that Trump is saying, would you vote for him?

A. "Were Anthony Weiner to 'suddenly' become conservative and say these things I would".

Suddenly become conservative?!

They actually believe that someone can "suddenly become conservative" so I believe they would vote democRAT is the democRAT were saying all the right things.

Trump running as a Democrat on the plank of “Build the wall and deport the illegals” gets about 1% of the Democrat vote and laughed off the Left’s political stage.

Then you should vote for Ted Cruz.

Why not? We voted for Bush, Boehner, McCain, McConnell, Fatso Christie, Jeb, John Cornyn, etc.

I love all this fainting vapors over whether or not Trump is pure enough to be a repub, when we have spent decades voting for these latent democrats.

It seems unfathomable that anyone as forthright and outspoken as Trump could run as a Democrat.

Really? Unfathomable? How so? Trump has been a democrat and has supported democrat values most of his life.

Were, dammit. Were! And yes, build the freaking wall already and end the "birthright." GOP gutless wonders deserve to go down in habanero sauce flames.

Would you like Donald Trump if he raped your mother? What if he just slapped her? What if he had kicked her office out of the Trump Tower? If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be, and why?

Trump isn’t a REPUBLICAN, and nothing close to being devoted to the Constitution, he is all about Trump. I’m not drinking the Kool Aid. Pride always goes before a fall, and a haughty spirit before decline. God delights in raising up the humble. We need a Republican that can UNITE people, like Ben Carson.

The “appeals to sophistication” are things leftists do. I’ll repeat what I wrote on another thread:

“...You aren’t winning support for X candidate by running against Trump. Hate him all you want, buy while everyone else was BS-ing the summer away, he actually stated positions (believe him or not) on important issues, that as we can see, most of the others are not willing to take.”

Basically the “sophisticated” crowd on the right left the door open for him by being lazy and calculated. Trump steamrolled in and did more damage to the GOPe than anyone has done EVER. Whatever his positions were X number of years ago, he seems to have studied and learned, which isn’t a crime and has been wildly to our benefit.

I take the “trust, but verify” route with him. That’s all you can do. He is entitled to a fair go, and if he is honest(which right now I cant find anything saying he isnt), then we win.

Unlike the Democrats, Mr. Trump does not support the UN, slavery, rape, crucifixion, Iran, N. Korea, genocide, Quartering of infectious diseases, and open borders.

But he could if it meant winning the Democrat nomination.

Screw the one party system, they’ve screwed us long enough.

Your sentiment is a key reason why I posed this question.

A lot of people might have voted for Trump as a democrat simply because he ain’t no republican.

Now. The fact he ain’t no conservative is another question for another day....

I do fear that conservatives will nominate another conman that I can’t vote for in the general. At the same time, we have the best candidate since Reagan running.
