Donald Trump has surged to the lead in the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary and virtually erased Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walkers advantage in the Iowa caucuses, according to new NBC News/Marist polls released Sunday.
In Iowa, Walker still tops the field with 19 percent, the poll shows only two points ahead of Trump, who garners 17 percent. Interviews for the poll began on July 14 the day after the Walker campaigns launch event in Wisconsin. The only other candidate in double digits is former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, at 12 percent.
Those lagging behind include a number of candidates banking on strong finishes in Iowa. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson is in fourth place, at 8 percent, followed by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 7 percent, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul at 5 percent, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 4 percent and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 4 percent.
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, for whom a super PAC has spent more than $600,000 on ads on Iowa television supporting him over the past six weeks, is at just 3 percent. Bobby Jindals super PAC has spent almost $400,000 on Iowa TV ads, but the Louisiana governor only garners 1 percent in the poll.
Meanwhile, in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire, Trump is in the lead at 21 percent. Bush, the second-place candidate, is at 14 percent.

And the equivalent of over 20 million today. Can anyone think of an issue other than freedom itself worth 20 million lives? That number does not even included wounded.
interesting notes:
New Hampshire
John Kasich at 7 percent.
he could finish as high as 3rd in NH and make a splash.
Kasich could end up as a gopE favorite in later states after Bush drops out.
IOWA
Carson at 8 percent, Mike Huckabee at 7
bad news. both must be stomped. at least Santorum is dead.
PAUL
in NH, Rand dropped from 14% in FEB to 4% July. A ronPaul state in rural areas. Did his support go to Trump? similar appeal?
The polls at this stage in his senate race showed him at 3%. Ask David Dewhurst and Paul Sadler how that turned out.
And a former congressman of a failed party, at that.

Polls: Donald Trump Way out in Front; Ted Cruz Surges Underneath, Marco Rubio Keeps Sinking
-—snip-—
While Rubios funk continues, real estate magnate billionaire Donald Trump remains at the top of the Republican pack with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker nipping at his heels. At the same time, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% is surging past Rubio underneath Trump, Bush and Walker, pulling close to the top tier of candidates....
Trump wins 18 percent to top the poll, while Bush comes in second place with 15 percent. Walker pulls 10 percent and Cruz is in fourth place now with 7 percent...

Sorry, I forgot Ayotte was from NH. Who is the Governor now?
Ayotte is a RINO too...I am not sure a Republican can win NH in November?
The Paulestinians in NH live in tarpaper shacks with satellite dishes up in the hills. The only thing they hate worse than Democrats is Republicans.
Trump is their guy. 100%.
I’m not hearing much about Rand ‘round here at the FR these days.
“similar appeal?”
Morons? Yeah, I guess.
That’s nice; I’d like to see them switch parties.
Many prefer candidates of lesser ability than Cruz.
Why not Cruz?
He has not accomplished anything in the Senate. He cannot convince Republicans to vote with him on his bills so how is he going to convince Democrats to vote for his agenda. Cruz is NOT a leader. He would make a wonderful authoritarian or dictator where he could force his agenda on America. Since America does not work that way, he has a hard time leading the Senators to vote with him. His term would be a disaster. He would not get anything passed as he is not a person who can convince anyone that what he believes is right. Oh his agenda is great, but what is the use if he can’t get it passed. Reagan was able to convince Democrats to pass his bills. That is a leader. Cruz can’t even convince Republicans to pass his bills. Not a leader.
