Three sitting Republican Governors interested in seeking a promotion to become U.S. President, represent states that have posted well-below average job growth over the past four years. From 2011 to 2015, the United States experienced 8.21 percent job growth. The states governed by Republican presidential hopefuls Scott Walker (WI), Bobby Jindal (LA), and Chris Christie (NJ), saw much lower rates of job growth over the same time period.
Using figures provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics from January 2011 to January 2015, Paul Rosenburg at Salon, noted that Wisconsin, Louisiana, and New Jersey, all experienced very sluggish job growth during the four-year period.
From January 2011 to January 2015, Bobby Jindals Louisiana ranked 32nd out of the 50 states for job growth, with 5.4 percent growth. Scott Walkers Wisconsin ranked 35th with just 4.85 percent growth. Chris Christies New Jersey was even more pathetic, ranking 40th, with a mere 4.15 percent increase in jobs over the four-year interval.

Those that think only in economic terms are ever victims of those who don’t.
“As calculated or measured how?”
Maybe Wisconsin for other reasons is not so amenable to the cosmetic games that are played with American employment statistics as a whole. As just one example: simply having a higher proportion of people with a hard-working ethic — i.e. people who did not give up looking for jobs in Wisconsin — would skew the figures to the “bad.”
But, but, but Walker is on the side of the American worker....
Lies, damned lies, and statistics
Well, for sure the growth rate of over eight percent for jobs under Obama is a pant load.
This is a stupid, misleading statement for anyone to make. Between January 2011 and March 2015, Wisconsin's unemployment rate declined from 7.60% to 4.60%. At every point during that period the state's unemployment rate was lower than the overall U.S. rate. Wisconsin "lagged" the rest of the U.S. in job creation because it simply didn't have the same margin for improvement that other states had over that same period of time.
The argument presented here is the equivalent of criticizing a student whose grade in a class improves from A to A+ ... because he "lagged" in improvement behind another student whose grade improved from an F to a D.
Great way to put it.
And the failing student’s improvement was due to having been forgiven most of his homework....
Well, that’s another trend
Plus, don’t forget that it is a cinch to show job growth when you drastically shrink the pool of job seekers as BO has done. So many people just gave up and took early retirement or disability.
That's because it's not supposed to be governable by a centralized entity ...
Roll back the federal government to about 25 % of it's current size and let the states govern themselves...
I've always said if we secretly closed 40 % of the federal government agencies, bureaus, fiefdoms... nobody would notice or care...
Right. LOL.
Still doesn't tell us much. Since Texas accounted for more than half the net job growth, we're bound to have a large number of states with pretty anemic growth. If an author wanted to provide valid information on this subject (this author didn't), he'd show job growth for every state since Texas so distorts the overall average the author uses to compare against a few states.
Many states probably fall very close together in percentage growth.
I’m not sure we’re going to make it to 2016 without something catastrophic happening in either the Middle East or Europe.
our foreign policy is being managed by valerie jarrett and boffo the clown
What was the job growth for Obama’s district when he was a state and/or US Senator for illinois.
The usual Democrat lackies in KS tried to use this report to discredit Brownback. When countered, they were forced to admit that the study considers government jobs on par with private sectors. Thus, KS in bad shape because private job creation higher than additional govt jobs. We know the difference and have put out that fake fire.
Under Obama, we’ve had actual job losses. Fewer people are in the labor force today than when he took office. Several million fewer.
