A record-high 6 in 10 Americans support same-sex marriage and a similar share say individual states should not be allowed to define marriage as only between a man and a woman, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
The national debate on same-sex marriage moves to center stage next week, when the Supreme Court hears oral arguments on whether state restrictions on same-sex marriage are unconstitutional.
Courts across the country have agreed with gay-marriage advocates that a Supreme Court ruling in 2013, striking down the federal governments refusal to recognize legal same-sex unions, means that state restrictions must fall as well.
Next week, the court will be considering whether the Constitution requires that gay couples be allowed to marry and whether states may refuse to recognize same-sex marriages performed outside their borders.
The rapid change in the law tracks a decisive rise in support for allowing gay couples to marry. It is driven by widespread support from younger generations as well as shifting attitudes among their elders.
The Post-ABC poll finds 61 percent of Americans support allowing gays to marry and 35 percent are opposed. Support is up only slightly from last year but is a reversal from public sentiment a decade ago, when opponents outnumbered supporters 58 percent to 39 percent.

That’s true; what I mean is, this issue should not even be really, we have real issues to care about. It is almost a diversion of the media to be reporting on this. Of course, there should be no same-sex marriage.
That’s why I don’t watch mainstream TV nowadays, it either lies on issues, or makes something wrong as okay or even wholesome, NOT NOTING THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES (The Bible reads plenty about the consequences of right and wrong actions). There is a subset of the Generations X and Millenials that are on our side, but entire generations are going to have a broken back from the Demographic Winter, which, unless a more sudden calamity happens, will bring on chaos and lawlessness. The per capita work burden will only increase, no-fault divorce isn’t going away, the low fertility will ultimately reverse immigration patterns, because even the developing nations will have population decline and job openings as a result. Just watched a documentary film “Demographic Winter” recommended to me by family. I know there is some disagreement I have with the makers of the film, but they bring the points together effectively. Basically, depopulation will dump all sorts of issues on the entire world, possibly even faster than the experts are willing to admit.
Yes, agreed, but only a subset are going to make it. The depopulation crisis isn’t a conspiracy theory, depopulation is happening, and it’s going to hit the rising generations hard. I am optimistic, though and will say that the strongest and most virtuous will be selected by this crisis, if it’s not until some future date where Apocalyptic events occur, but either way, there will be great suffering all over the world.
And those same 6 out of 10 don’t think that GOD has a say so in this even though He is still 100% against it?
Ah the day the wages of this sin are paid will be a bitch for those whose time of reckoning has come

It really is $%^&# when we pretty much may have to break the law to be virtuous.
That’s why I mentioned “Demographic Winter” it goes to show the admission of various academics that societies pretty much have cancer and economic crisis that will only go worse.
Ironically, while homosexuality is clearly condemned in the Bible, slavery isn’t.
The Washington ComPost speaks.
One man, one woman, one marriage.
Stop wondering. It's over. All that's left is the debacle at the end . . . followed, I suspect, by the Islamic State.
There is no such thing as “gay” marriage. A marriage cannot be gay. Only people can be gay.
Same-sex marriage does not require spouses to be homosexuals
OK.....every single one except those.
;>)
Bull Sperm...
Polls are all in who you ask......
AND WHO YOU DON’T ASK...
People now know they can lose their jobs or businesses if they express opposition to the homosexual agenda. So they are scared.
So all the TV shows worked, eh?
If only we had some sort of values-based organization to stand up and fight for morality.
Many people do not answer these polls truthfully because they don’t want the Gaystapo knocking on their door.
I read the comments section and if you didn’t know better you would say 90% of the population supports homo mirage (intentional).
