As smoking has declined in popularity, people are less acclimated to it. So there are more people sensitive to it.
Hankering for the old days is in vain. We have to deal with today’s public, not yesterday’s. I have never partaken of tobacco and while I don’t like “bans” on comestibles, I am glad that considerate partakers tend to either chew or vape.
This is a case of a dopey politician inserting his foot in both ends.
And the result is that the attacks are starting on the vapors.
The fact is that the war on tobacco has created a culture where people now feel that they are free to openly cross streets to yell at me for having a smoke. They literally feel empowered to go out of their way to attack their fellow man, for partaking in a legal activity.
This is now being used as the basis for the attacks on bakers and florists that own “public accomodations” businesses.
When people think that they can be free from ever being offended (olfactory or emotionally) then you no longer have a free and open society. We are there and the tobacco war led the way.

Oh waa, you take a request for courtesy (some of those vapes smell weird) as tantamount to the Christian baker being legally browbeat into playing a part in celebrating something that isn’t a wedding like it is.
People who breathe second hand smoke often suffer from concussions, caused by smokers who just want to be left alone and not lectured.
It stopped being a “request for courtesy” when the government browbeat, at the point of a gun, private business owners into no longer being able to cater to smokers.
That sounds awefully similar to the calls for a “request for courtesy” that everyone should be catered to, at the expense of the business owner’s rights. It won’t be long until the government browbeats those businesses, at the point of a gun, to comply.
Both are nothing more than an outright attack on the rights of the business owner. Your failure to recognize that does not make it less so.

First, there need not be any interaction between an “allergen sufferer” and me. Second, you are purposefully ignoring the point that the tools established in the tobacco war WILL be used to now infringe on religious rights of property owners.
