When you get to the stories of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, consider the viewpoint that Abraham represents God the Father, Isaac as Jesus, and Abraham’s assistant finding a bride for Isaac as the Holy Spirit. And finally, consider Jacob as representing the dual warring nature of the redeemed man. Esau, of course represents the unrepentant, unredeemed man of the world.
We studied that in Bible college and it was amazing how much the story bexame engrossing to us students.

I made a connection years ago on a Bible story. David was no child when he faced Goliath. Saul offered to allow David to wear his armor and Saul “from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.” A child could not have worn his armor.
