The fact is that the war on tobacco has created a culture where people now feel that they are free to openly cross streets to yell at me for having a smoke. They literally feel empowered to go out of their way to attack their fellow man, for partaking in a legal activity.
This is now being used as the basis for the attacks on bakers and florists that own “public accomodations” businesses.
When people think that they can be free from ever being offended (olfactory or emotionally) then you no longer have a free and open society. We are there and the tobacco war led the way.
