Oregon holds on to its title as Top Moving Destination and continues to pull away from the pack, while the Northeast loses residents for the third consecutive year.
Those are the key findings from United Van Lines 38th Annual National Movers Study, which tracks customers migration patterns state-to-state during the course of the past year. The study found that Oregon is the top moving destination of 2014, with 66 percent of moves to and from the state being inbound thats a nearly 5 percent increase of inbound moves compared to 2013. Arriving at No. 2 on the list was South Carolina (61 percent inbound), followed closely in third by its northern neighbor, North Carolina (61 percent).

Beautiful state that’s way too liberal.
Looks like all the kalipornians are moving in
We have been thinking about splitting from PA and moving to a friendlier section of the country. Oregon was not on the list.
Makes sense. California has too many people and not enough water. There are 3 states which border California. Arizona is mostly desert—too many people, not enough water. Nevada is mostly desert—too many people, not enough water. Oregon has lots of water.
we did that. I had to work in MA where my wife was from and I convinced her to move south. Our votes never counted in MA, high taxes , weather, politics etc.
She now states it was the best move she ever did.
We moved here where no Dems are in power, where the county are not indebt. where people are moving too for the best school system, low crime and yes where republicans outnumber non party and Dems combined.

St Augustine, St Johns county north east FL.
So long as they are all liberals and the ignorant voters don’t move to swing states and red states then it’s great with me.
Excellent. Let all the libs go there. We're sick of them coming to Texas.
Another super liberal encampment.
"Collectivist hellhole (with trees), here we come!"
I think Washington maxed out as a high-destination place. So many people came here - including what seems like half the homosexuals in the country - that housing and rental prices soared and the roadways are jammed.
No state income tax in OR.
I’d have to see studies that reflect much more diverse sources than simply one mover’s data, regardless of how large the mover is.
That is if I am reading this correctly, and it is not a survey that incorporates most/all of the major movers in the US.
Wrong. No state sales tax.
Eastern Oregon and eastern Washington are considered part of the “American Redoubt”. It would be interesting to see if this is where much of the influx is going, bad gun laws or not.

Heaven on USA dirt is where leftists, gays, muzzies, 3rd worlders, and any DemoRat voting fool ain’t. The selections are slim and few.
Actually, only the big population centers (Portland, Salem) are predominantly liberal. The rest of the state is pretty much a red state.
I stand corrected.
High outbound in ND?
Oregon does have a State Income Tax, (10%), but no sales tax.
Washington State to the north has just the opposite.
