Obama to ban bullets by executive action, threatens top-selling AR-15 rifle

It’s started.

As promised, President Obama is using executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is putting the ban on 5.56mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers, including the huge outdoors company Cabela’s, to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.

Oh, and of course Texas voted for Romney in the Electoral College, accepting his and Karl Rove's humiliation and abuse meekly.

Which was what you wanted, right?

Way back when I was pulling for Thune when he was backed by George Allen, he won, and beat Tom Daschle handily.

Talk about conspicuous public service..... I think Daschle had pretty much worn out his welcome in South Dakota by being the Big Shot, but the job still required a janitor to haul him away and mop the floors. ;)

It's The Issue. The Real Issue in the GOP, and has been for about, oh, 40 years.

I was in the hall the night Reagan and Ford fought it out for Louisiana's delegates, silk-stocking coupon clippers versus salt-of-the-earth Main Streeters who'd never visited an Ivy League campus or graduated from Tulane Law School. It was a hell of a fight, and Reagan lost gracefully.

What they need to remove is the effin’ “sporting purposes” references to anything to do with the 2nd.

Why would you say that is what I wanted? You are wrong. What I wanted was a Muslim, anti-American, Constitution-hating, Israel-loathing, racist, community organizer out of the White House. I didn’t want Romney to be the person to do that, but unfortunately he was the only choice in Nov. 2012.

The problem with that is that there would have been no fighting Romney, Republicans would have kissed his ass and did everything he proposed and he would have run an AWB after Sandy Hook (and I voted for him).

Now, given the Kotex wearing passel of Republicans we've got, it's obvious in retrospect that either way we were screwed.

You have to just chalk this up to it's gonna happen anyway. You can elect 535 Republicans in the House, and 100 in the Senate, and the imam-in-chief is still going to get what he wants because most of what we're electing as Republicans WANT IT TOO.

Til any given area accepts the fact that their Rep's Frank Fondler and Haywood Jablowme et. al. will nearly ALWAYS talk the conservative talk and NEVER come through with the walk we're ALWAYS going to get a steaming pile of brown goo in the breakfast bowl...

There's only so many slots at the public feed trough. The ones that are locked DemonRat are mostly going to stay that way because they have the constituents that are takers, or idiots, tight. The remaining slots are controlled by a base holding to stuff like family and fiscal and moral conservative values, but the dudes that want those trough slots want exactly what the DemonRats want, they want to feed at it. So they crow family and fiscal and moral conservative values, and once in for the most part just do the same crap.

Actually, if a fraction of those registered Republican in CA that didn’t vote, came out and voted, this would be a red state.

First, all the thread hijackers need to stand down. Using a thread about the recent gun control of our liege as an attempt to smear Conservatives is something for the Huffington Post comment section, NOT Free Republic.

Second, the President CANNOT decide which parts of the 2nd Amendment he likes or dislikes or interprets to like or dislike. It is Congress’ authority granted them by the Constitution to reign in the President through legislative action or by impeachment. GO call Boehner and tell him to keep on fighting using every legal means he has, like of course how he has been doing since he took control in 2011, right? Oh wait, thats right, one of the first acts as Speaker he did was go golfing with the liege, like a good RINO does. He has been milktoast like rest of the gang, who “we have to vote for or else the Libs are in charge.”

Third, ANYTIME you place a RINO in nomination, expect to lose to the Democrat. That would make a smart guy think, “Ya know, those Conservatives really mean what they say, and wont accept our junk RINO candidates. Guess we better not vote for them in the primaries and that we better scream to high Heaven against them, or else the Democrats will win.” That is exactly the point with the McCain loss and the Romney loss, STOP PUTTING THOSE %$&#@* UP FOR NOMINATION!

Those are your answers! Now get busy, since we are on the same side, right, Romney-bots?

The other aspect of the lesser of 2 evils working is that none of us here are getting any younger, and we’re not “indoctrinating” Constitutional Conservatives in schools nor are we importing them from other countries by the millions.

If something is going to come to a head, it’s going to have to happen sooner rather than later or the constructionists are going to end up in numbers quickly dispatched and later recounted in tales told round the burning warmth barrel in the evening at the agricultural collective.

A string of Mitts and Bob Doles and Jeb’s would get us to the place we’re in now, but it’d be just far enough out that we’d mostly all be in depends (or desiccating in some cave in the desert where we crawled off to pass away so we wouldn’t get ground up in the collective carnivorous pets feed manufacturer and lampshade emporium...)

YES, third party for house and senate, because a small 3rd party that gets 24-36 house seats and 4-8 senate seats is KINGMAKER. Nothing gets done without them, and we’re FAR better off if government gets nothing done as opposed to them “doing something”...

M855’s are NEITHER made entirely out of the list of metals NOR do they have a jacket greater than 25% of weight.

A “steel core” by the definition is an ENTIRE core, it is NOT a small steel insert comprising maybe 15% or so of the mass with the rest lead.

M855 is NOT AP based upon the definition, can anyone here parse a freakin’ sentence???

http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=16&t=524144

THAT is a steel core in the two 7.62X51 rounds on the left

Didn’t you know the lesser of two evils is not a moral inequality?

I can assure you, even with RINOs in office, the Libs would not allow the oncoming Zombie Apocalypse to be forestalled, but I completely agree on all other counts. Here is the theory behind why I took a decidedly and intellectually negative slant during the fertile early days of the Tea Party. Liberal Republicans have been the consistent problem with the consistent application of the Republican Party Platform. Not mind you, Right Wing polices, but simply the Party Platform! We have had a divided Party for DECADES! If the Tea Party was ever going to be successful, it was going to take some extremely consistent negative push back against what has now become known as the Establishment. We were NOT going to get that at the early days of 2008-2010 with Beck, Rush, and Levin willing to be accommadating to Congressional Republicans who did not walk the walk. It was a time when people on our side wanted a win at the ballot box not a win in legislation. THIS IS WHAT WE GET! Those decisions BACK THEN are what is killing us now! That is why I scream to the roof tops that beating every RINO in ANY election, Primary or General, should be at the top of the list, whatever the short term cost, because the long term viability of the Republic is at stake.

To be completely honest, my gut feeling is that we have turned down a road that there is no coming back from. I fear for my nation, for my people, and for the world. As a fellow commentator said earlier on this thread, things are looking more and more Biblical by the day.

Whatever happens, seek God for your spiritual salvation, He can ONLY be found in the Bible (specifically read the Gospel of John and Romans), love your neighbours as deeply as possible, keep your powder dry, and when the day comes to write the next chapter in the American Revolution, shoot straight and die well.

If you refused to vote against Obama when you had the chance then this is on you.

You chose the greater of two evils.

Own your mistake.

I refused to vote for a fella who CANNOT tell the difference between True Christianity and a damned HERESY!

I don't need a fool like this leading MY country!

"In the early 80s I bought a TC Super 14 Contender in 223 caliber. Handguns have been available for the caliber for decades."

Small world, funny you should post that. It was my exact first thought seeing as I have my TC standing in the corner of my office with the .223 barrel configured as a rifle and the handgun barrel and stock in my desk drawer.

Side note, SGammo.com has some left if people are looking, they are asking almost 3x what I just bought 1k rounds of two weeks ago though.

There’s about 80 posts on this thread that you could easily call “thread-jacking”, so what? Have a mod zot em’ all if you wish, I didn’t bring it up.

Your proposition fails to address a winning strategy. McCain and Romney lost big time because a lot of conservatives refused to vote for the clowns. Guess what? We’re in a bigger crap pile now because of it.

And looking down to 2016....looks like RINO JEB, or RINO Christie might be up against Walker & Cruz. I think Carson is a fraud personally (he’s against guns in the city remember) so I’d discount him automatically.

Looks like the GOP will lose again because we just can’t seem to agree while tyranny breathes down our necks....oh well!
