Declaring that “you cannot defeat what you don’t understand,” Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday suggested some reasons why tens of thousands of young people are flocking to join terrorist groups in the Middle East.
Among some of the likely motivations he listed were deprivation, a desire to avenge the death of a loved one, a response to “acts of discrimination or repression,” the desire to belong to a group, and “rebellion against anonymity.”
Absent from the list was any belief – misguided or otherwise – that joining a terrorist group was an Islamic duty or demonstration of religious zeal. (He did make reference to proselytizing in prison.)

Yes, very much so, to the effect that as of this moment, the Saudis are building a 600 mile 10 meter high fence (just like the Israelis) to prevent ISIS from over running the country. In fact, ISIS, who the Saudis had once supported consider the whoring Wahabis unworthy as ‘Guardian of the holy Places’ and have threatened to exile, if not kill them from Saudi Arabia.
The same thing happened with osama Bein Laden. He wanted the Saudis out because they allowed the infidel american armed forces stationed there during the first Iraqi War. Jewish soldiers, too.

Well I totally agree with John Kerry. Until our Goverment understands and admits that this is exactly Islam and it is a course on the earth with the purpode of detroying freedom and liberty we can not destroy it.........

Burning alive may have been a new low. What is not understood is that ISIL does not have conventional goals. Rather if aims to precipitate the end times in the Syrian town of Dabiq, with the “Great Battle.” The worse their acts, the sooner the final battle will take place. See below:

On the other hand, Kerry may be right about what motivates young men to volunteer for ISIL. I wonder how many become disillusioned once they actually learn ISIL’s true goals, not the Caliphate, but the END.
Thanks gleeaikin. Kerry’s pretty much always wrong, and this isn’t an exception. Scratching a little bit on the personal histories of the losers who volunteer for ISIS would, I believe, turn up nothing but (to borrow a phrase from PJ O’Rourke) bone-idle bums. In OPEC countries everyone eats, has health care (unless they spit on the sidewalk or peek under a burkah, then they only get attention from a doctor after the flogging), place to live, etc, all from the corporate state.
To squelch jihad, we need to take away the money, not give them more. If they had to struggle to earn a living as many of us do — not the Ferguson rioters, or the Trayvon rioters, or the Occutards, but many of us — they wouldn’t be jihadists, they’d be working for a living. Lurch, Zero, Marie Barf, and the rest of those morons aren’t interested in stopping jihad in the first place, but their idea of giving them MORE money isn’t going to work, any more than it has worked in the negotiations (a.k.a. surrender) over the Iranian nuclear weapons program.
