I think the media hypes up the "milk and bread" panic and you usually see that going on in the big cities. Out in the suburbs, people are pretty much blasé about pending snowstorms. We get them at least a half dozen times each winter (when the cities are usually turning to rain or stay all rain).
The only thing about snowstorms that unnerves me is having to drive in them. There are too many idiots out there on the roadways who think that because they have 4WD or AWD, they can drive at normal highway speeds and tailgate/harass those who don't. Those are the jerks that create the pile-ups that you see on TV all the time.
57,000,000 .. yikes, now that WILL be historic !

Coastal Flood Warnings up. Boston areas’:

“Biblical” - probably not. But a storm to be taken seriously, I’d think.
Sorry - I can’t get the link to post properly - there’s a space between “Boston” and “MA”.
The smart addicts will have prepped too.
You hit the problem. It is not so much the snow total but the drifts of snow. They can be a real pain.

It's time to panic
OMG, NYC has never seen three feet of snow before. The end is near.
I repeat from comment #1.
Is beach damage an issue on the CT shore? It already took a big hit in those storms a few years ago.
I wonder how much the “snow tax” will be?
Just a March storm in Minnesota. Still, good luck, facing all that snow with an incompetent like Kaiser Wilhelm as mayor ought isn’t fun.
I remember that blizzard. It snowed continuously for three or four days. When it stopped snowing, there were three or four feet of snow where I was living at the time. Gov. Whitman declared a state of emergency and had banned civilian vehicles on the roads. There was a busy road near me and it was quite eery to not even see a single car on that road.
57 million feet?
I’m going to need more rock salt.
Couldn't agree more. My commute includes 20-25 miles of highway and I don't go into work when the road conditions are bad. Fortunately, my boss supports my decision.
We should name these blizzards. We could call this one “Every month in Rochester”.
Damn scary, happen to me once, when I stopped the car, I was in the other lane two feet from a telephone pole.
The mere fact that you have a beer fridge in the garage implies that you are a planner and a forward thinker.
We are on a limited budget at my house. I created a solar system that, in times of crisis, will be able to power one of our refrigerators, but not both.
So yeah, sorry food, but the beer in the garage takes precedence.
” OMG, NYC has never seen three feet of snow before. The end is near. “
Actually, I believe it has, but who cares? May it all fall on the mayor.
Hmm, if we are talking during winter, it would seem that the garage and refrigerator would provide enough insulation from the sub-freezing temperatures to keep the beer chilled but not frozen even without power. Right? Does beer explode when frozen as soda does?
