We’re as poor as church mice, yet we have enough to last through three or four weeks, if we had to.

Usually this means there’s some other huge story they’re desperate to not cover.

This is for those people who have a bottle of ketchup and some leftover Chinese delivery in the fridge, and think they probably have a flashlight in the house, somewhere.

But then again, sir, you are a Freeper and not one of these the government is my savior liberals, that will freak out when their liberal NYC overlords fail to plow their street quickly enough or shut down their heavily subsidized choo-choo trains.
Self-reliance is always key in these situations.

When I was a kid, blizzards were just another snowstorm. A school “snow day”. There never was anything “historic” about them.

I don’t know that anywhere has ever had 57 million feet of snow before this.

It is chilling (so to speak) to see how many people don’t keep even one week’s worth of food in the pantry.

Saw the same thing during Hurricane Katrina. Over in Mississippi we had supplies and we shared with others until the charities and government got there. I don’t think I have to tell you what happened in New Orleans.

Remember that what hurt even preppers in New Orleans, was that their houses and goods were below the water level after the levee broke.

Were as poor as church mice, yet we have enough to last through three or four weeks, if we had to. If folks were willing to eat everything already in their pantry, they could probably go a couple of weeks too. No one wants to eat dry oatmeal for dinner, but if that's what they got, they could survive.

I thought I was the only one that noticed that.

Does Al Gore have a speaking engagement in New York?
Live it up New Yorkers, your grand kids will never see snow, they will only hear your stories about this storm.
To: gaijin
0 probably stepped in it somewhere tonight- should hear about later in week
To: ansel12
Don’t take bribes & kickbacks and build shoddy levees and that won’t happen.
