The allegations in the case are downright scary. The complaint contends that Montgomery, a Navy veteran and retired police officer who rose to the rank of detective sergeant during his 30-year career, voluntarily sought treatment for insomnia at a hospital on Long Island in May of 2014 after relocating to a new home several hundred miles from his previous residence.
According to the suit, the hospital diagnosed the plaintiff as mildly depressed, and his clinical evaluation stated, Patient has no thoughts of hurting himself. Patient has no thoughts of hurting others. Patient is not having suicidal thoughts. Patient is not having homicidal thoughts
and there is no evidence of any psychotic processes, mania, or OCD symptoms. Insight, judgment, and impulse control are good. The suit further alleges that a psychiatrist told the plaintiff, I dont know why you were referred here. You dont belong here.

Moral of the story is not to go anywhere near a hospital in the state of New York - what a subjective, totalitarian action and then he’s a former serviceman and a cop . . . they don’t appreciate his service so much, do they? Sheesh.
In September I was pruning some bushes. I was distracted by the phone and accidently clipped off the end of my left index finger.
A week or so later I had to have a small skin graft to fix it. I had surgery under anesthesia, but before that they asked me questions like “do you ever think about hurting yourself”? Iwas like “you are kidding me, if I was going to hurt myself I would not have chopped off the end of my finger”.
My bushes looked good though.
They now ask several probing questions. The nurse told me they had to.
There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. -- Ayn Rand
Regarding gun ownership, the correct answer is "Break into my home some night and find out".
Obamacare will be the biggest gun control scheme in the coming decade. EVERYTHING will qualify as a metal illness. And gun violence costs Obamacare. So naturally, everyone who seeks treatment for anything will have their firearms confiscated. Gun “violence” will raise costs and be a health care problem requiring gun confiscation to save money. They’ve already made living a crime, why stop there?
Any excuse will do when you’re looking for one.
Unless you really want to sleep with a C-Pap mask then...........
the truth, else you are committing a felony.
Seems to be the Russian Communist version of "Socialism".
Sounds like they viewed your accident as intentional self maiming. Trauma doctors shouldn’t be practicing psychoanalysis.
Only hours after my open heart surgery they were plying me with alcohol because my chart mentioned excessive alcohol consumption (I had admitted to a daily drink) & they wanted to prevent the D.T.’s, holy cr@p!
Then they gave me an “anti-anxiety” drug that had me seeing things that weren’t really there! Flushed that s*** down the Hillary!
It’s getting scary, folks. Don’t ever get sick!
This is what they do. They couldn’t get what they really wanted: total confiscation from honest, law-abiding non-violent citizens. So they decided they would get confiscation by other means. They made getting an aspirin mental illness, justifying confiscation.
Now they can say they don’t, when they really do.
Exactly. I don’t think that means he is likely to misuse a gun, however.
“Remember the good old days when we had an AMERICAN as President?”
What’s black and white and red all over? Barack Obama.

“Montgomery alleges that the hospital violated his privacy by transmitting his medical information to the State Police without his consent or knowledge.”
“With Obamacare there is no longer an expectation of privacy.”
ICBW but I think the Safe act permits/requires reporting of anyone considered mentally unstable. Safe act essentially overrides HIPAA.
There is no privacy in NY, no rights other than those the state decides you have...today. The Safe Act was passed by lies, tricks and deception in the dark of night. Like ObamaCare. Hopefully Andrew Cuomo will pay for this and soon meet his father in Hell. The same goes for those responsible for Obamacare.
The fact that it hasn't happened already makes me think it never will.
nail on head.
I have a Mother in Law from MA who thinks New England, mainly Boston is the world and that we are all like them.
She is fed her daily crap of the local channels and the likes of the Today show, Ellen, and other shows like it.
She thinks if we do things differently then it’s wrong and of course just goes along with the usual talking points of the left, but when I question her on if illegals should get welfare, if underage age sex is alright or even if drugs should be legal.
She then goes against the liberal party line but still votes Dem while telling everyone what a committed Catholic she is
Correct.
I did work recently with 18.hrs to 06.00 for two weeks and then 06.00 to 18.00.
This went on for two month while I got about 4 hours sleep in 24 hours.
Yes I saw weight gain, felt awful, became more impatient and stressed.
Like I keep saying, if I had the means, I’d get the hell out of this communist hell hole as fast as job and place to live could be sorted out.
That said, Cuomo is nuts.
Not is the slightest. He's a fascist.
That's exactly right - these people aren't crazy, they know exactly what they're doing, which is the frightening part.
