Independent businessman and political enigma Greg Orman (46 percent) is leading three-term Republican incumbent Pat Roberts (41 percent) in the race for U.S. Senate in Kansas, with 11 percent undecided, according to the latest Suffolk University/USA TODAY poll of likely voters in the general election. In the race for governor, Democratic state Rep. Paul Davis (46 percent) is leading incumbent Sam Brownback (42 percent), a Republican, with 6 percent undecided in the survey conducted by the Suffolk University Political Research Center in Boston.

People who prefer Republicans and Conservatives tend to vote for policies and principles. Democrats vote for Party and care about policy and principle within the context of Party. Party first, then fight it out for Principle which, for most Democrats, rises no higher than how to divide up the spoils. For the other Democrats it is how to get total control over the Party and get the Party total control over the population.

One would expect if Tea Party unhappiness with Roberts is driving down his numbers that would not effect Brownback.

Why would the Tea Party be unhappy with Robert?

'Tis a mystery to me.

Generally speaking Tea Party folks don't abandon a very conservative Republican in favor of a lying Democrat (yes, I recognize the redundancy) running as an "Independent".

RINO’s are also a proxy for a Reid with their cloture votes on liberal
bills.

Looks to me like Sarah Palin’s campaigning for Pat Roberts has helped the old fellow close the gap.

Keep hitting the fake conservative Orman, folks.

Define him for what he is: a Democrat.

They do when they get treated the way Roberts and his campaign treated them.

I think the definition of RINO has changed in recent years.

Fact is Roberts has one of the most conservative voting records in the US Senate and has voted against all of BHO’s policy initiatives and SCOTUS appointments.

Fact is Orman is proxy for the Dems.

The choice is clear. The primary is over.

It would nothing short of pure insanity to throw this seat away.

Pat Roberts also has the support of Sarah Palin.

Roberts spent an hour or two flipping pancakes with Palin on a single day. He spent a lot more time than that hauling Bob Dole's tired old butt all over the state and has lined up more time with John McCain and Jeb Bush than with Sarah Palin. That should tell you where his heart lies. Palin was a sop to the Tea Party...and they are very annoyed with her for thowing any support behind him.

Greg Orman is no “independant!”

He’ll follow the Marxist line to the hilt.

If I understood previous articles, this guy Orman has taken no positions on anything. He is basically saying “you have to elect me to know where I stand.” If the people of Kansas vote for this guy, the deserve everything they get. What fools.

Well, that's going to suck if that happens because I will have to deal the stupidity here but I understand exactly what you mean. The whole left structure is trying to pull the wool over our eyes, just like they did with electing 0bama. I sure hope my fellow Kansans see through all the crap but who knows, they elected Sebelius twice. She and the rest of the liberal and democrat establishment is the reason we have such a mess here and it will take years to clean up and recover from. Paul Davis will be more of the same liberal big government policies we had under Sebelius.

Greg Orman is not a very good candidate and his latest TV ad is just stupid. Roberts has been hitting him on the thousands of dollars Orman has spent on democrats, including 0bama, Harry Reid, and Hillary Clinton. Well, Orman came up with a response saying he agreed that Obama and Harry Reid are part of the problems in Washington DC but he also tied in Mitch McConnell and Pat Roberts on the other side of the aisle, trying to look all independent, lol. What he doesn't realize is he admits, those he gave large campaign contributions, is a big part of the problem in DC and HE GAVE THEM large amounts of campaign contributions.

What and idiot Orman is.

Roberts now being portrayed as an out of touch DC insider.

Even if he is, he's a reliable conservative vote. Outsing him would be a major blunder.

Oh. so we throw out someone flawed with an 84 percent ACA record, anti-amnesty, and put in a phony liberal Democrat who will vote lockstep with Harry Reid, 100 percent and give him a majority to keep Obamacare and put another liberal on the Supreme Court, thereby tipping it?? I sometimes think these sites are pestered with phony “conservatives” who really are left liberals who work for the DNC and try to suppress conservative turnout in favor of the left. Roberts isn’t perfect, far from it, but he is MUCH better than Orman and the Demo Senate (and Ebola, mass illegal immigration, a leftist Supreme Court, and continuing open borders that a Senate Dem majority under Harry Reid’s leadership will ensure.

I suspect the person who said "Roberts must be defeated" is nothing but a liberal troll lurking here to initiate arguments and uncertainty.

Furthermore, it is my observation that both Roberts and Brownback are showing improvement in the polls. The gaps are getting narrower, which is probably attributable to the fact that both are just now beginning to hit their opponents on their ties to Obama and the Democrats. My belief is that as the weeks of October pass by, Roberts and Brownback will take the lead and cruise to victory in November. Sorry to sadden you, trolls.
