And on a related note: Court Won't Force Democrats To Field Candidate in Kansas Senate Race

A long shot to begin with since the law says who may appoint replacements for candidate but doesn't say they have to appoint replacements. But the plaintiff not showing up for the hearing didn't help matters.

The gap has closed, though not completely, and has remained closed.

Sarah was indeed a part of that effort.

We hope, again, that there will be enough thinking voters in Kansas so that Orman does not seize power.

Must be using that new fangled Common Core math that I'm not familiar with. But if you say the gap is closing and Palin is responsible then I won't argue with you.

What has the USSC done to blunt 0bama?

2 things come immediately to mind. 1) Citizens United ruling and 2) religious rights vs. abortion mandate (very important)

What has the GOP controlled House done to blunt 0bama and his agenda?

Not given him a deal on immigration, voting for permanent Bush tax cuts for 99% of Americans, defense authorizations.

For defense bill:

They do when they get treated the way Roberts and his campaign treated them.

And that was how???? I know nothing of this. You need to explain yourself.

#2 wouldn’t have even been a consideration if the USSC had done their job correctly and ruled against 0bamacare in the first place...

They don’t have to give him “a deal” on immigration...they already have by not defunding ICE, DHS and numerous others who are busy IMPORTING diseased illegals by the plane load in addition to the wide open borders...They constantly throw up trial balloons about giving him “the deal” and I suspect, that given a chance, they will.

Citizens United, although a landmark case was severely undermined by the IRS and Lerner...as soon as that information became public, they should have defunded the entire cabal, but didn’t. The Republicans in both Houses of Congress, with the exception of a couple of true CONSERVATIVES, are not even trying to do a damned thing about the corruption in DC...nothing!

The tax cut is immaterial at this point as the money will still come into DC via the outrageous 0bamacare premiums Americans will be FORCED to pay as a result of the House not defunding everything associated with that abomination...and they had the chance to put a stake in its heart and REFUSED to do so.

We’re just gonna have to agree to disagree, but I’m beyond giving a damn about listening to all his BMW’ing about “conservatives” are the reason for 0bama...we are not.

The GOPe sabotaged their own party candidates to get the “best” one and then he threw the game when he had that douche on the ropes in the debate and with his 47% comment (although very truthful). The GOPe OWN this...they’re complicit in it and they’re feckless cowards to boot.

Keep electing UNIparty members...because it’s worked so well.

I would add to my arguments in support of Senator Roberts the fact that he votes along with Ted Cruz about 90% to 95% of the time. If that fact doesn’t register with the Kansas Tea Party Folks then they are brain dead. There is something else at play here.

And note that a failure to hold this seat could easily result in a corresponding failure to capture the Senate Majority.

Are we really that foolish?

When Republicans walk in lockstep, it is usually the mass of Republican voters they are walking all over.

Really?

They walked in lockstep against Obamacare and against Obama's stimulus package and the mass of Repub voters were pretty happy about that.

You may want to look up the definition of the word "usually". It is not synonymous with "always". These were exceptions, because they were exceptional situations. Nothing more.

11 percent Undecided in the Senate race is terrible news for an incumbent. Undecideds usually break 75 percent for the challenger.

“They don’t have to give him “a deal” on immigration...”

Exactly! Plus, they are bragging about giving in on Amnesty at their first possible chance. Just don’t bring it up now...we got elections to win!

If anyone is interested in reviewing Roberts position on many topics go to the
following links and spend a few moments. The history goes back to early 1990s
and shows his votes on many issues.

What a bigoted boob you are. You don't like him because he is old? My deep hope for you that as you age, you are mocked by strangers because you have become old. FreeRepublic used to be a place where informed people could share discourse and it was fun. Now it has become overrun by ignorant and uninformed bores.

For your ignorant mind, Roberts is about as conservative as they come.

Another vastly ignorant and vapid poster. Roberts is a very conservative voter. The tea party went after him because they wanted a scalp and he is 78. This is the only time that the tea party made a mistake. Roberts is neither a squish nor a moderate. I shan't be too hard on democrats anymore seeing that so called conservatives will jump on someone's back just because someone screamed jump.

Do a bit of thinking and research before you become s sheeple.

No need to label yourself right off the bat.

This is the only time that the tea party made a mistake.

As much as you may wish for it the Tea Party isn't going to go away. And the Tea Party in Kansas are not as enamored with Roberts as you are. Maybe because they know him better?

Do a bit of thinking and research before you become s sheeple.

The sheeple are the ones who will vote for whoever the GOP establishment put in front of them. You may be happy with the McConnells and Grahams and McCains and Cochrans of the world. A lot of conservatives are not.
