I’d be willing to bet that there are more exotic unpublicized diseases present than lice, scabies and drug-resistant tuberculosis. There are some particularly nasty ailments out there. Flesh eating disease comes to mind.

There are FIVE species of bacteria which release the toxins which attack connective tissue - a condition known as necrotizing fasciitis. ALL five can be spread through contact with infected fecal matter or blood, so they do not just spread from the environment but also due to unsanitary conditions in the home or community.
