Moment federal agents tasered son of last Nevada rancher caught on tape as critics accuse officers
Daily Mail ^ | 4/11/14 | Dan Miller and Meghan Keneally

A newly-released video has captured the moment a rancher's son was tasered by federal agents and the use of force has today provoked fresh outrage among libertarian groups across the country.

Ammon Bundy, the son of the Nevada rancher locked in an increasingly tense land dispute with the federal government, is shown being shot with a taser and threatened by police dogs.

The confrontation took place Wednesday and was caught on video by Bundy supporters and relatives who got into an aggressive- and at times violent- face off with the officers.

'Watching that video last night created a visceral reaction in me,' Arizona state Representative Kelly Townsend told The Las Vegas Review Journal today.

You bring up a lot of good questions that have been bothering me for a long time on this issue.

My big question is this: If he and his family don’t own this land and have never owned this land, what makes them think that they have any right to graze their cattle on it at all? Doesn’t the landowner (in this case the government) have the right to charge what they want for a lease? You don’t like it, graze your cattle somewhere else or buy feed for them.

Now if there was a contract, at one point, between this family and the feds, giving them grazing rights forever, then we’re talking about a breech of contract (same thing that was done to the indians).

What am I missing here?

(I won’t hang my hat on an issue unless I’m certain that the cause is righteous. I’m seeing too many holes with this situation.)

“Whether the rancher paid his fees or not is no longer the issue. FWIW I wish a wealthy individual would step up and pay it for him. Just to settle things down.”.

Good thought BUT, if someone DID pay the fee it would only mean that they are giving in to the feds. I am 100% behind Bundy. There are MILLIONS of other acres out west that the BLM has “laid claim” to and no one has, or can stop them. This is only ONE example.

While I agree there needs to be “calm” brought to this issue, the ONE PERSON who COULD but WILL NOT call for “calm” is off to another fund raiser, vacation or golf game. He does not WANT calm, he wants civil unrest and the bad part of that is someone, INCLUDING federal employees may wind up dead. Not a good thing for either side.

What plans? It is in the middle of nowhere based on the photos. The whole thing is confusing. Does bundy have title to the land or not? Who owns land these cows are grazing on? Were fees owed to feds and county and bundy just paid county?

I wish reporting was a bit more thoroigh on what’s going on.

Water, oil, mineral rights (maybe all promised to the Chinese as collateral on the money we’ve borrowed from them to give to Obama’s peeps).

They are just looking for an excuse that the media will run with. An excuse to shoot American citizens for daring to resist tyrrany. It will happen.

They’ve got other plans for that land.

So political corruption is at the core. How did I guess that?

NO! The land in question involves state land that is controlled by the BLM which oversees and makes improvements for the lessees who lease the land.

The BLM stopped performing their paid duties back in 1993 and Bundy continued the grazing of his cows and performed the land enhancements at his own expense..

Rather than pay a federal agency that had stopped performing its duties in an attempt to drive off Bundy, Bundy stopped paying the required fees and was willing to pay Clark County, the real owner of the land......

Clark County chose not to accept those payments and now we have the current problem.......

As a side note, Mr. Bundy is more than willing to pay for the retroactive grazing rights to Clark County but not the BLM........

Yes I agree. Remember that poignant scene in the movie Anonymous where the little girl is killed and everyone picks up the mask and puts it on. We are so close to that. I can feel it everywhere I go and in folks I talk with. Although with this story about that ass hat Reid and his freaking son selling us to the Chicoms hitting Drudge so fast I smell smoke coming off enraged Americans. Pretty soon we’ll all be Katniss, on fire, ready.

OH Golly, all these years of my life, I thought the federal
government’s job was to protect the United States and it’s
citizens from foreign invasion.
NOW, I’m watching foreign invaders from the south crossing
our borders, their military protecting the invaders who’ve
planted illegal substances on American property, invaders
who’ve marched across American property without permission,
killed some Americans while invading the property.
AND now....American government helicopters with snipers going after an unarmed working American family in Nevada because the government wants that land for protect a turtle, that they will euthanize.
Is there something wrong here?

It’s interesting clark county will not accept Bundy’s
lease money. Kinda makes one wonder if there is money being
slipped under the desk of the county clerk, sheriff? I’d
ask the governor to take the lease money. After all, the
states are supposed to rule their own territory.
Some of our presidents are crafty though. I remember during
the Clinton term, soft coal was found in Utah, a LOT of soft
coal, acres and acres of it. He and his side kick, algore,
went to Utah and signed it into a Federal Park. It insured his buddy from Hong Kong, who has lots of soft coal to be the big daddy of soft coal.

Thanks for the info. I need to catch up on these details and thus far it has seemed confusing to me. Thanks!

I don't understand how these grazing fees work but on a general note a rancher doesn't get to choose who he pays for something. When he stopped paying BLM that was his major screwup. Even if somehow his logic is right these things come down to legalities and don't see how he prevails. It's a shame he couldn't have handled in some way where he DOES prevail because the way the feds are acting now makes my blood boil.

CBS reports that militias from Texas, Montana, Utah, New Hampshire, and Florida will be standing with Bundy against the Bureau of Land Management.

If you aren’t a combatant, this doesn’t mean that you can’t participate in this revolt against tyranny. This is a call to action.
