12:19 p.m. ET I just ran into NRSC head John Cornyn coming off the elevator. Most Washington Republicans will tell you on background they think the Delaware Senate pick up is gone for them if Christine O'Donnell wins the GOP primary, but they are reluctant to say so on the record.
Cornyn came pretty close.
He said that not only does he have doubts about whether O'Donnell can win in Delaware, but he also admitted that race is the "lynchpin" to any chance of Senate Republicans taking back the majority.
SNIP
I then asked If O'Donnell wins, are you going to pull your money out of there?
"I think we'll have to have a little powwow," said Cornyn, laughing, as he walked away.

Sure do have to make that statement. And if the democrat wins then the democrats will be blamed for the results of there term. The conservative will look like an even better choice next time.
He started out as a pretty good senator, but now......sigh.
I don’t think Cornyn is a RINO. I just think he’s an asshole.
I don't remember anything he has accomplished for TX. He spends his time campaigning for incumbents.
I don’t see what the issue is here. Isn’t a purpose of the TEA Party to be able to independently support candidates that appeal to the Conservative grass-roots? As I said on another thread tonight, successfully funding O’Donnell in the absence of NRSC and RNC money should demonstrate clearly and unequivocally the capability of the TEA Party and its leadership/supporters, as well as free O’Donnell from being beholden to the NRSC and other GOP establishment apparatuses.
It could also set the stage for a major shift in how GOP candidates are funded and supported, reducing the power of the various GOP organizations by depriving them of money as funding flows directly from the grass-roots to the candidates that truly appeal to them.
That should be a good and desirable thing, right?
The GOVERNMENT class doesn’t get it yet.
We the people have had enough of the GOVERNMENT CLASS. That means Republicans AND Democrats, not just the liberals responsible for this hideous economy Etc et al.
We want the GOVERNMENT class OUT.If you are a RINO like Mike Castle, then HEED THIS!: YOU ARE OUT!
We are DONE with the Government class.
CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?????????

The truth is that neither candidate was very good, for two totally different sets of reasons. It’s too bad that DE couldn’t have mustered a better challenge to the disgusting Castle than O’Donnell - someone more seasoned with a better personal track record.
O’Donnell may be a loser in Nov., but there’s solace to be had in booting a hard-core RINO out on his ass. That will be the consolation prize.
The ‘Revolution’ has just begun.
It will continue up through the 2012 Elections.
The ‘Old Guard’ WILL BE replaced by 2013.
McConnel, Cornyn, Boehner - will not be in leadership positions after this is over in 2012.
This is really about an unspoken challenge for the leadership - the Demints vs. the McConnells.
Castle and his cronies have been squashing rivals for a long time. To get better challengers in Delaware requires Castle’s removal first. Then, just maybe, we can begin to build a pool of talent again within the DE GOP.
Such a defeatist you are. I have my doubts, too, about her winning, but I’m not ready to throw in the towel. I’m sick of loser mentalities.
Just remember Scott Brown. Nobody thought he could win, either. She’s tried before; maybe she’ll make it this time.
Instead of downgrading her, now that she’s the nominee, why not either help her or shut-up and get out of the way.
Because they pander to the illegals and the exploding latino demographic in Texas, that’s why.
I don’t blame them. She has the ability to bring down other GOP hopefuls.
What a shame, we had Nevada and Delaware in the bag but now have absolutely ZERO chance to take the Senate.
Yippeee, we won the primary with a conservative only to lose the general and assuring ultra liberal Democrats victory. Insane, but some people call this a good thing.
Sigh.
Be that as it may, the same problem occurred in AK and they’ve got a decent candidate. Yes, I know AK is a conservative state, but the principle is the same and the mood is right this year to knock off RINOs with solid, ELECTABLE conservatives.
Castle would have lost to Coons. Why? Because he would have been the big spending incumbent in that race. Now Coons is the big spending insider. And he’s already making the mistake of going all negative and forgetting to give people a reason to vote for him, just like Castle. The elites of both parties really don’t seem to learn from each election. They just think that they didn’t do enough of what failed before.
Coons also lacks charisma. And like Castle, he’s been facing cakewalks in his prior elections.
