Cornyn Doesn't Sugarcoat O'Donnell (Bret Baier said NSRC WILL NOT support O’Donnell)
CNN ^ | Tuesday, September 14, 2010 | Dana Bash

12:19 p.m. ET – I just ran into NRSC head John Cornyn coming off the elevator. Most Washington Republicans will tell you on background they think the Delaware Senate pick up is gone for them if Christine O'Donnell wins the GOP primary, but they are reluctant to say so on the record.

Cornyn came pretty close.

He said that not only does he have doubts about whether O'Donnell can win in Delaware, but he also admitted that race is the "lynchpin" to any chance of Senate Republicans taking back the majority.

SNIP

I then asked If O'Donnell wins, are you going to pull your money out of there?

"I think we'll have to have a little powwow," said Cornyn, laughing, as he walked away.

You are right. It’s bad enough to have to put up with the progressive socialistic commies on the Dem side. When a RINO lends them support it’s like getting a knife in the back for conservative voters... demoralizing.

“The GOP establishment would rather fight it’s own candidates than Obama and the Democrats”

You absolutely hit the nail on the head. Great comment!!!

I am reluctant to believe anything from a CNN blog about a Republican

We'll see who laughs last. We can withhold money too. From the NRSC and send it directly to O'Donnell.

I have not given to the RNC, RSCC or RCCC for some time for this very reason.

Please, Lord, let them call and ask me for money again SOON.

This is a wise move. You think she’s going to pick up 20 points in under 2 months if she pulls it off tonight? There are a lot close races in reddish/purple states where that money can go to better use. Castle is the closest thing to a R that can win in DE, and we’re toying with the idea of handing Obama another automatic democrat vote. Unbelievable.

A voice of sanity. Thank you.

The health care battle proved that a RINO is better than any Democrat. In the midst of immense hostility from the MSM and the White House and Harry Reid, not one GOP senator -- Snowe, Collins, Voinovich, etc -- caved on Obamacare. So don't tell me that a RINO is no better than a Democrat, because that is demonstrable BS.

Castle will help McConnell on many issues -- tax and fiscal policy, deficit reduction, defense, education reform...

During general elections, we’re told, hold your nose and vote for the RINO no matter what — the primaries are where you “exercise your conscience.” Now, during the primaries, we’re told, hold your nose and vote for the RINO no matter what — only they can win the general.

A funny thing happens when you follow that logic: the time is “never” right to exercise your conscience. And voila, the RINO always wins by default. Neat trick!

Screw them,

We can support her just as easily as they can..... They would typically, and someone please check me on this, spend somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple of mm..... if the race was a tight one.

$2mm/ 50 = $40,000.00

Seems like a reachable goal.... I’ll kick in the first G for PA

Yes, I used to like Cornyn, and he had taken some principled stands in the past - but he has been completely RINOified. He can't lose quickly enough.

But now for more pressing matters, the dethroning of Miss Amnesty herself, K.B. Hutchison.

How come Texas has such left-leaning Senators? It’s supposed to be a conservative state, but I guess that’s an unearned reputation.

I can tell you THIS Texan has had it with Cornyn’s RINO self. I also LOATHE Kay Bailey Hutchison. (She needs to go home and bake cookies or something.) All RINOs MUST GO!!! It will take several election cycles to get rid of them all but it is something that must be done.

To these dinosaurs, it is ALWAYS about nothing more than having more Rs than Ds in Congress, the Senate and the WH.
They assume that a majority is automatically something to celebrate.
It matters not that they’ve become, for all practical purposes, indistinguishable from Democrats. It’s been a nearly unfathomable mystery to me to figure out, over the years, just who or what it is they think they ARE, yet how unaccountable they are when asked to look back at the balance sheet and determine just what difference they in fact HAVE made.
Both parties have been playing this game of “if not for us, putting up the valiant fight against our “enemies” (but, for the Repubs, also knowing how and when to compromise), we’d be facing total disaster’. A variation of this of course, is the main talking point we’ve been hearing from the Obama Administration, as they explain to us that things would be SO MUCH WORSE if they weren’t doing what they’re doing.
This is why they are both perceived NOW as political elites
interested in nothing more than the self-preservation of their own “Team”, and continually figuring out new ways to delude us into thinking that THEIR interests are OUR interests. They are NOT, and we are at the very beginning of the most exciting, vital, interesting and NECESSARY process imaginable in American Politics. It’s actually happening folks, after all these years.

Uh, yes. Unless, of course, Beltway pinheads like Cornyn decide to sandbag her instead of backing the primary winner. Realize that the mood of the country is anti-incumbent, something O'Donnell can use to overcome the lesser name recognition she has over Castle.

You said it. He backed Specter, Crist, Murkowski, McCain and others RINOs. I thought he was a conservative when I voted for him but he certainly pulled one over on me. He has a knack of ALWAYS becking the least conservative candidate. His RINO supporting record is perfect as far as I can tell.

-- I would love to see these guys proved big-time wrong. --

Again.

I'd like to see them out of power. In other words, I'd rather not see them, at all.
