Watch out Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich is 'serious' about running for president in 2012

Move over Sarah Palin, Newt is "serious."

Newt Gingrich said he is considering a run for president in 2012 and will make his final decision early next year.

"I've never been this serious," Gingrich told the AP.

The former House speaker said he will be helping fellow Republicans get reelected in the midterms, but will decide in February or March whether to seek the nomination.

Credited with the Republican takeover of the House during Bill Clinton’s presidency in 1994, Gingrich even fronted the movement to impeach the President during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Whatever else some might think about Newt he is politically savvy.
LOL! You forgot the < /sarcasm > tag.

If he's so "politically savvy" why did he have to step down as speaker? His "political savvy" started the loss of seats in Congress because he was banking on history (party in power bullshit)rather than make a real effort to gain more seats...and it didn't work.

The only reason anyone ever hears anything he says is because of the dimwit Hannity...(and if hannity's not careful he's going to poke his eye out with that pen that looks like it's permanently attached between his fingers).

The kind of conservative we need to run would be setting that sofa aflame, not sitting on it.
LOL!
BRILLIANT!

MSM will go after Palin 10 times more than Newt. Most voters get all their info from MSM. Neither one of them can defeat Zero. Newt has baggage. Palin is hated more than any other by MSM.
You're right. We should all follow your lead and go with who the MSM will approve of. < /sarcasm >

Sounds like the politician's version of the biological clock is running.

WOW! She must have spoiled your night. On the other hand, perhaps it’s your hearing? Or is that under the ‘never’ column?

No, I hit rewind and watched it again just to make sure I'd heard what I thought I heard. Hannity just replayed here and I just heard it for the third time. For whoever said that there were over 700 instances of that word on Google search - that's true, but it's telling that my post on this forum in this thread is on the FIRST page of the rankings already.

I love the woman - I really do. I saw her twice in person in 2008 (some on this board might remember some fabulous pictures I took and posted of my trips to see her in Ocala and Kissimmee, FL). I gladly voted for her and some old guy whose name it wasn't worthwhile to learn. She's got my wholehearted support if she runs in 2012. I will crawl across broken glass to see her elected.

he will run to introduce a new direction to counter the failed moonbat excess.
I'm more interested, worried actually, in what he would do AFTER the campaign lies he ran on.

After 94 he went liberal to be loved. This time what? More progressive to fit in?

Great analysis.

I think many Repubs don't understand that the only way to talk to a lib is to first punch them in the mouth.(rhetorically speaking)

Sarah Barracuda works.

Was it hot today in Chicago? Humid? Do they still buy you folks pizza, or did that end after the inauguration?

I do not remember “hate” against Reagan. What I remember is they denigrated him as a mere actor, and not an intellect.

There never was an ongoing skit on Saturday Night Live making fun of him.

Oh, man.

The Left thought he was the Devil. Do you remember the fits they had over the START Treaty? "Star Wars?" "Ronnie Raygun?"

The contemptible "Daisy Ad" in the 1984 campaign? The "Cowboy?"

I must remember a different 1980s.

Sarah ignites the base, but I think the state-run media’s jihad against her has cemented too negative an image of her in voters’ minds...

Yes, that explains why Nixon was elected in 1968.

For the simple reason that she resonates with middle America, and scares them to death!

I think we're getting closer to the tipping point with the MSM.

I’m for holding all politicians to the same “higher standard.”

***********

Sounds great, but what YOU think of Democrat politicians is irrelevant to them. You’re not going to vote for them no matter how they conduct their private lives, and they know it.

No. I’d say your in that corner.

Savvy LOL!! NOT by a long shot. You need to get out more - if you consider Newt as savvy. Slimey is more like it.

I’ve never been this serious,” Gingrich told the AP...

That’s not true - he was way serious about his support for the liberal running on the GOP ticket who was running against a conservative. Then after all the light brought onto the campaign due to Sarah asking for support for the conservative candidate - Dede (RINO) dropped out of the race and through her support for the ‘rats that was running!

Yep - he was serious of $upporting her, and went on TV to defend it - a few weeks before he spoke loudly with these words The Reagan ERA is Over. Yep, he knew what he was doing going against the conservative in NY23 race.

This stint is against conservative and he was chosen to go against Sarah. NO ONE can deny that! We hopefully have one more shot at doing it right.

I do not remember “hate” against Reagan.

I do. They came very close to impeaching him over Iran Contra. We beat the Sandinistas but the Dems in Congress very nearly took him down over it. They were flying down every other week to get their picture taken with Comandante Ortega while Reagan was funding the Contras.

It was pretty dirty. The Dems voted to fund the war and then once the "contras" were in the hills fighting, voted to cut them off and made it illegal to help them. Reagan found ways around it and they tried to impeach him over it.

He won. The Sandinistas were forced out (although recently Ortega returned to power with Chavez's help).

Its hard to remember those days. Network news had a complete lock on information. There was no Limbaugh, no Fox, no Washington Times. No Beck or Hannity. No internet, no Free Republic, no nothing. What the networks told you was news, you had very little way around it and in fact people tended to accept it because there wasn't anything else. Wall Street Journal, that was it. When they went after Bork, for instance, and accused him of everything in the book, he had no recourse. He was history. The mocked Reagan mercilessly as being stupid, his wife was crazy, they mocked him endlessly over "star wars" (elements of which we now have working). His policies brought down the soviet empire but he was savaged mercilessly at the time.

If you pick someone that is not attacked by the MSM you’ve picked a liberal to support . . . or someone they think they can easily beat . . . too old, no charisma, whatever it is. You’re playing a cowards game and cowards usually lose in contact sports.
