Agreed.
The guy is awesome in a debate. But between his history of philandering and his abandonment of some conservative principles I simply can’t see him getting anywhere in the primaries.

Although I do not use the word myself, I have heard refudiate used often enough in the past to know what it meant and had no problem with its use in this context.
