Move over Sarah Palin, Newt is "serious."
Newt Gingrich said he is considering a run for president in 2012 and will make his final decision early next year.
"I've never been this serious," Gingrich told the AP.
The former House speaker said he will be helping fellow Republicans get reelected in the midterms, but will decide in February or March whether to seek the nomination.
Credited with the Republican takeover of the House during Bill Clintons presidency in 1994, Gingrich even fronted the movement to impeach the President during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Newt’s a conservative? I like Sarah but I wish she would stay under the radar a little more. Definitely stay off of Hannity.

“Is the threat of Newt running for President as serious as the threat posed by Global Warming?”
.
It’s as serious as the the threat posed by the HOAX of Global Warming.
And both are capable of wiping freedom off the map.
.
Democrats will never hold their leaders to any kind of moral standards because the entire lib-dem ethos is “if it feels good, do it!!” and because ideological purity trumps personal behavior in all cases. Since we never vote for them anyhow, they could care less if we think they are sleazebags.
Our leaders are required to reflect our values.
Sarah ignites the base, but I think the state-run media’s jihad against her has cemented too negative an image of her in voters’ minds. As for Newt, he’s the smartest of the bunch and would destroy 0bama in a debate, but he has way, way too much baggage to compete.
As for Romney, Huckabee and Pawlenty... if one of them emerges as the best the GOP has, count on four more years of 0bama. The hill in 2012 is steep enough as it is. If it’s one of these three going up against 0bama, they won’t have a prayer.
LOL!
“There is a role for Newt, but not as President.”
.
Septic tank cleaning is done by vacuum trucks now.
.
Based on his past performances (and lack thereof) one might suspect that he is a Newturd politician....lacking the wherewithal when and where it counts. He can sell books and does a fine job whistling to the cameras, but it is doubtful he will ever produce anything of lasting substance.
“Palin is hated more than any other by MSM”
.
For the simple reason that she resonates with middle America, and scares them to death!
.
Didn’t the media get chills in their collective legs when Obama spoke? Even the politically clueless morons are starting to make fun of the media now that the pixie dust the media scattered about Obama is blowing away . . . along with the politically clueless moron’s jobs. I think enough have come to their senses that Republicans win in 2012 with whoever they nominate. It’s hard to get a worse candidate than Obama looks now. The question is who do WE want?
“Democrats will never hold their leaders to any kind of moral standards because the entire lib-dem ethos is if it feels good, do it!!
I can dream can’t I?
Realisticaly you are spot on......sigh!
“newt has the best mind around.”
.
IF you like global socialism, and sky high taxes.
.
you’re correct ... newt is politically savy ... even now ... and he deserves great credit for the 1994 GOP congressional coup ... but in 2010 newt’s an electable has-been ... although a great intellectual force ...
I look foreward to President Palin totally ignoring Newt the socialist moron.
.
Doonesbury is nationally syndicated, and read by millions daily.
Yeah? That’s how we got mCain last time. The Media and the dem crossover voters chose our candidate for us!
We need to get the word out...NOT NEWT!
We need some strong conservatives to step up and give us some real choices for a change.
Agreed.
The guy is awesome in a debate. But between his history of philandering and his abandonment of some conservative principles I simply can’t see him getting anywhere in the primaries.
Calcowgirl, glad to see you back posting!
Where you been?
.
Destroy him with the very stuff they get away with on a daily basis...
Either way Obama will be re-elected. Will eat crow if I am wrong.
Newt does not have what it takes.
Sarah Palin does.
Cozying up to Pelosi, Hillary and backing Dede...NewT = New Totalitarian. Great mind...but rarely used for the right reasons. Pandering to POS totalitarians does not cut it when FREEDOM is at stake.
eff ewe, Newt.
Agree.
Newt’s new wife is very pushy and it is she who is nagging him to run.
“Whatever else some might think about Newt he is politically savvy.”

Yeah, that DeDe endorsement was like, um... brilliant or something.
nail.....head
In 2012, Gingrich will be 69 years old, Romney and Barbour will be 65. Sheesh.....will BHO even be 50? I just don’t see it. On the other hand, Palin is the anti-Obama.
Newt? Um — NO.
Maybe they will shoot each other.
I doubt Newt’s dishpan hands ever held a gun before.
You are right. Maybe a book duel will suit Newt?
Sorry Newt. Nope. No way. Somewhere along the way, you sold out. Dede Scuzzyfava will not be forgotten.
Her last skit wasn’t that funny on Palin, and this is coming from some of my friends who like Fey’s stupid act.
Urban dictionary refudiate: combination of “refuse” and “repudiate” to make clear you mean “refuse” as in to refuse to accept; especially : to reject as unauthorized or as having no binding force : to reject as untrue or unjust . With a couple of exceptions Mr. Bellingham among them interviewing pot sellers is unlike interviewing anyone else in business. Simple yes-or-no questions yield 10-minute soliloquies. Words are coined on the spot, like refudiate...
Back at ya, ES
I found that life does exist outside FR so I am making the most of it! LOL.
Thank you.
Although I do not use the word myself, I have heard refudiate used often enough in the past to know what it meant and had no problem with its use in this context.
If the dems try to make hay about this, tell them to go see a corpseman.
Newt would be a good VeeP...
No newts is good newts....
Palin /West ‘12
*grin*
Whatever else some might think about Newt he is politically savvy.LOL! You forgot the < /sarcasm > tag.
If he's so "politically savvy" why did he have to step down as speaker? His "political savvy" started the loss of seats in Congress because he was banking on history (party in power bullshit)rather than make a real effort to gain more seats...and it didn't work.
The only reason anyone ever hears anything he says is because of the dimwit Hannity...(and if hannity's not careful he's going to poke his eye out with that pen that looks like it's permanently attached between his fingers).
The kind of conservative we need to run would be setting that sofa aflame, not sitting on it.LOL!
BRILLIANT!
MSM will go after Palin 10 times more than Newt. Most voters get all their info from MSM. Neither one of them can defeat Zero. Newt has baggage. Palin is hated more than any other by MSM.You're right. We should all follow your lead and go with who the MSM will approve of. < /sarcasm >
Sounds like the politician's version of the biological clock is running.
No, I hit rewind and watched it again just to make sure I'd heard what I thought I heard. Hannity just replayed here and I just heard it for the third time. For whoever said that there were over 700 instances of that word on Google search - that's true, but it's telling that my post on this forum in this thread is on the FIRST page of the rankings already.
I love the woman - I really do. I saw her twice in person in 2008 (some on this board might remember some fabulous pictures I took and posted of my trips to see her in Ocala and Kissimmee, FL). I gladly voted for her and some old guy whose name it wasn't worthwhile to learn. She's got my wholehearted support if she runs in 2012. I will crawl across broken glass to see her elected.
he will run to introduce a new direction to counter the failed moonbat excess.I'm more interested, worried actually, in what he would do AFTER the campaign lies he ran on.
After 94 he went liberal to be loved. This time what? More progressive to fit in?
I think many Repubs don't understand that the only way to talk to a lib is to first punch them in the mouth.(rhetorically speaking)
Sarah Barracuda works.
I look forward to her appointing John Bolton as SoS.
