Howdy, fellow freepers!
I've looked at the HTML code at that horrible "smear Glenn Beck" web site and found something interesting.
It appears that this is not a bunch of jovial Internet pranksters suddenly becoming socialists and deciding to do a character assassination of Glenn Beck.
This is what got my attention:
From the "Glenn Beck slander web site"
<!--meta name="keywords" content="social justice organization,low income family,anti-war,paid sick days, predatory lending,katrina relief,osi-new york,minimum wage,afl-cio,living wage,new orleans, urban education,urban schools, heath care,political,civic engagement,hurricane katrina, political prisoners, gulf coast,rebuilding,rebuild america" /-->
Now compare this with acorn.org's meta-tags:
<meta name="keywords" content="acorn,social justice organization,acrn,acorns,acron,low income family,moderate income family,paid sick days,predatory lending,katrina relief,acorn voter registration,maude hurd,minimum wage,living wage,new orleans,urban education,urban schools,wade rathe,heath care,foreclosure,affordable housing,voter registration,registering voters,voter fraud,voter suppression,political,civic engagement,voter engagement,hurricane katrina,gulf coast,rebuilding,rebuild new orleans,rebuild america" />
In both of them health care is misspelled as "heath care" and a lot of the tags are similar...
Hmmm...
From the donkey excrements a mighty ACORN slander campaign grows!
Geez ... look again.
Here’s what you should have found (two separate groups):
meta name=”keywords” content=”glenn,beck,rape,murder,1990,raped,glen,raped,murdered,really,did,glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990,glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com
meta name=”keywords” content=”social justice organization,low income family,anti-war,paid sick days,
predatory lending,katrina relief,osi-new york,minimum wage,afl-cio,living wage,new orleans, urban education,urban schools,
heath care, political, civic engagement, hurricane katrina, political prisoners, gulf coast, rebuilding, rebuild america
Posted again for the thick-skull crowd:

I added the numbers to show what lined up with what.
I did not change the order.
“How come the site is coming up for me?”
Uh, oh...is your computer vibrating, or making a noise that sounds like a muted “Battle Hymn of the Republic” being played on a tin whistle?
It’s nothing...now turn out the lightts and go to sleep...
Because that website is a joke site. Now, suddenly, everyone is gonna visit it with their eye toward some conspiracy. What better joke?
Howlin greeted me with the same skepticism and I’m still here. If the n00b has any gumption let him stand his ground.
this site here
http://www.glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com/
has meta tags buried in line 592 in the code. i just looked at it comparing how the code was written to the other site and saw this
<!—meta name=”keywords” content=”social justice organization,low income family,anti-war,paid sick days,
predatory lending,katrina relief,osi-new york,minimum wage,afl-cio,living wage,new orleans, urban education,urban schools,
heath care, political, civic engagement, hurricane katrina, political prisoners, gulf coast, rebuilding, rebuild america” /—>
interesting - looks like they moved them down a bit
Last week, an anonymous 34-year-old computer science student decided the meme needed a home, so he started GlennBeckRapedandMurderedaYoungGirlin1990.com, complete with a fake arrest report and a plethora of information on the “case”.
Says Beck was trying to shut it down. Link to story below.
But considering the source code I wonder if this guy is a front too.
Go look for yourself and make up your own mind.
And everyone was a newbie at some point here, so go ahead and set up whatever hazing ritual y’all use around here to make me feel welcome ,)
The dead link provides us with an alternative link which is - www.acorn.org - suspicious in itself.
The rest is over my head, but other Freepers seem to have doubts and questions regarding the accuracy of it.
Definitely worth a look from the all knowing, all seeing Mods!
Excellent catch! Bravo Zulu, watchdog.
You can get the site at http://gb1990.com/
(well, kind of; the list that corresponds is actually commented out)
yep...but, like I said earlier...it still doesn’t mean anything eitherb way...
Heh, you’re proud to follow in the footsteps of one of the biggest biatches on the Internet?
I just think it’s weird that someone would spend so much money and time on a site that’s probably getting a lot of hits unless there’s a financial incentive.
And there are no ads, no pleading for donations, no T-shirts and bumper stickers for sale, nothing.
And then the same meta-tags as acorn?
It would make sense, since Glenn Beck has been the most vocal about acorn’s corruption and voter fraud, that they would target him.
Dan Rather got fired because he didn’t check the document fonts and the truth is often in the details.
...it still doesnt mean anything eitherb way[blink] [blink]
“Dan Rather got fired because he didnt check the document fonts and the truth is often in the details.”
Dry hole...I promise.
She was the absolute crotchettiest beeyotch I ever ran across! I miss her every day.
And then the same meta-tags as acorn?Chalk it up as a drill; one can never get too much practice sleuthing. It would make sense, since Glenn Beck has been the most vocal about acorns corruption and voter fraud, that they would target him.
Dan Rather got fired because he didnt check the document fonts and the truth is often in the details.
Notice: This site is parody/satire. We assume Glenn Beck did not rape and murder a young girl in 1990, although we haven't yet seen proof that he didn't. But we think Glenn Beck definitely uses tactics like this to spread lies and misinformation.
Read the last sentence again. That's the point. Read it a third time and ignore the name of the site itself, because anyone who believes that we're trying to actually get people to believe Glenn Beck raped and/or murdered is *whoosh* missing the entire point. So don't be dumb like a lot of people are. I greatly expanded this text because so many people *read* it, and *still* didn't understand.
...it still doesnt mean anything eitherb way
[blink] [blink]
hahahha...it’s late...there’s another post back there somewhere that explains it...
the “personality” of the code writing is different from one site to the other. its kinda odd that that the same key words are there in odd places.
Depends on your sense of humor. That sucker is some kind of twisted. I can appreciate the genius that would be necessary to perpetrate the hoax. Just watching this thread would be reward enough.
Either way, you’re smart. Just what made you look in that spot on both sites?
True, it could be a coincidence and I’m seeing patterns that aren’t there.
On the other hand, there’s no harm in bringing this to light either.
Remember, cockroaches run from the light!
“cut and paste”
Im a software developer, so I know that copying and pasting code from previous projects is very common.
And who would have the incentive to smear Glenn Beck?
The ACORN cockroaches he’s been exposing was my first choice.
They’re well-financed, amoral, vicious, but not very detail-oriented.
I’m not accusing anyone of anything, but I have a feeling this could very well be the website author playing with us.
yep
Great catch! Breitbart, for sure. He’s on a roll.
I can see three possible scenarios, based on the feedback from this thread:
1. This is an astroturf smear campaign made to look like something else.
2. The web admin of the smear site wants to mess with our minds.
3. The web admin is a lazy SOB and copies other people’s code.
I’m more inclined to believe 1 or 3.
1, because I don’t see how one guy would pay for hosting, bandwidth, etc. just for a prank.
3, because I’m a lazy SOB and copy code too ;)
Then again, if he’s a lefist then he doesn’t understand capitalism anyway and will spend his mom’s social security checks on hating on the web.
the post by Oceander on that page is good, thanks for posting i just learned a few things
Will do!
Boy, you guys are a tough crowd!
Still, that’s what I get for being a rookie ;)
Off to bed now, no rest for the not quite so wicked!
OK, one more reply before bedtime.
It’s great web sleuthing.
It does not explain how this schlub has the money to set this up.
And all this effort for a hateful prank site?
And risk being sued by an army of lawyers?
I wouldn’t do it unless I had some backup, financial or otherwise.
Then again, I’m neither hateful nor suicidal.
excellent detective work!
I’m thinking he lives in Mommy’s basement and has nothing better to do.
Good catch! This reminds me of the “same typo” situation showing up in the DNC certification documents (one with and one without the “Constitutionally eligible” language).
As a web developer I will tell you that we routinely snag meta content from previous designs or sites and then strip out the tags we don’t want or replace them.
I would make absolute sense that if this project had many of the same keywords, to just open the html page from acorn and copy and paste it into the new site.
There are two possibilities
1. It’s possible that the people who designed/managed the ACORN website also designed this new website and simply used their code from one site on another to save time. (If you know tags are correct on one site, it’s easier to just cut and paste than have to validate another set of tags from scratch)
2. It’s possible that the person creating this site likes the ACORN site or it an active visitor to the site and simply hit the “view source code”, copied and pasted it into their new work. (For many self-taught designers, web wannabes they have no idea how to write meta tags, so they find a site they like and swipe the code from their pages.)
My guess is that it’s likely #2. BUT, it obviates the point that this person is a fan of ACORN - and is more than likely an active member or volunteer. So, while this is a good and interesting find, it’s not good evidence of anything other than the meta code was probably lifted from ACORN’s site.
The idiots can’t even spell.
Good catch!

Philip Welcome to FR. That said ... I looked at the html coding of the CURRENT and ACTIVE page for BOTH sites and confirm your claim -- that is, as you present that claim. Unfortunately, in looking at Google’s cache, the archive for both sites only goes back to 9/10/09 FOR BOTH SITES. Archive.org HAS NO archives of either sites. However, in using Bing's archive of BOTH site, the defamatory Glenn Beck site does NOT - repeat, does NOT - use “heath care” in its metaname tags. ACORN.ORG (8/31/2009) < meta name="keywords" content="acorn, social justice organization, acrn, acorns, acron, low income family, moderate income family, paid sick days, predatory lending, katrina relief, acorn voter registration, maude hurd, minimum wage, living wage, new orleans, urban education, urban schools, wade rathe, heath care, foreclosure, affordable housing, voter registration, registering voters, voter fraud, voter suppression, political, civic engagement, voter engagement, hurricane katrina, gulf coast, rebuilding, rebuild new orleans, rebuild america" > AND glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com (9/03/2009) < meta name="keywords" content="glenn,beck,rape,murder,1990,raped,glen,raped,murdered,really,did,glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990,glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com" > SO, as much as I can't deny ACORN is a throng of lying, crooked and depraved scumbags that deserve to be publicly horse-whipped - the fact that the defamatory Beck site's cached metatags are very different than ACORN's metatags make it INCONCLUSIVE that the scumbag webmaster of the defamatory Beck site didn't simply copy ACORN's metatags. They would sloppily copy the metatags to try to grab some of ACORN's web traffic from search engines. Just thought I'd throw that in. Always be skeptical ... ALWAYS. |
Just what exactly do you mean by “skeptical”? ;)
Who is Isaac Eiland-Hall?
When you do a reverse IP domain check, you find that there are only 20 domains hosted on the web server (174.142.41.105) that has glennbeckrapedandmurderedayounggirlin1990.com and gb1990.com
On the same server, you’ll find isaac.eiland-hall.com and eiland-hall.com.
panamacitypc.com is also registered to him and is on the same server. Others might be too but didn’t search the rest.
Isaac Eiland-Hall has an interesting background. You’ll find his candid thoughts on Republicans on one site.
http://isaac.eiland-hall.com/?s=republican
Excerpts:
“So all you Republican holier-than-thou morons, you can STFU. Oh, and Im not a Democrat. I hate both parties with a strong passion. I am a liberal...”
“Im not so much Democrat as I am Anti-Republican ”
“Why are contemporary Republicans so full of shit? My personal answer: Hey, who cares? Theyre the only thing making the Democrats look like the better of the two parties bah-dum-ching.”
You get the point.
Here’s where it gets more interesting. He did an internship this summer in Washington DC for by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
http://www.hacu.net/hacu/NewsBot.asp?MODE=VIEW&ID=626&SnID=2
Who did he work for in DC? And was the internship tied to an ACORN organization?
self-ping bookmark
I counted 14 meta tags which were identical and pretty much in the same order _ Plus the “heath care” smelling eror.
You need to send this off to Joe Wilson’s office, Glen Beck, Hannity, Rush and all the others. ASAP if not sooner.
It IS a good post. Thanks for the link.
*It’s 3:00am...and I can’t sleep* 0_o
Bravo!
Get this to Glenn Beck, Andrew Breitbart, Mark Levin, Matt Drudge, etc.
Bump to the top.
