” Whether it is or isn’t, the dems thank you for your help”

The dems should thank the GOP for their help.

When republicans act like democrats, people will just vote for the real thing, as Rush says.

As for staunch right wingers, the GOP has totally alienated their base.

I’m tired of being called a vigilante for supporting the Minutemen, a sexist for opposing Harriet Miers, a loony for wanting to end rather than create entitlement programs, and a pusher for wanting to end the “war on drugs” which is really a war on liberty complete with no-knock warrants and property seizure law.... then told that if I vote for anyone but the party anointed, the country will go to hell. Guess what, I voted for the anointed in the past and the country went to hell. The GOP needs to stop alienating it’s core supporters!

How exactly does that result differ from what would happen with a RINO (read Socialist-Lite) in the White House? You present a false dichotomy.

none of the leading pubs will pull the rug out from under our troops = get the "difference'?

It's as plain as the nose on your face - oh, but you may have cut that off last election by 'not voting' to "teach the pubs a lesson" =

Agreed, but there’s still time and I’m an eternal optimist.

McVain, because at least he is strong on national defense, which none of the dems are for. But I am prepared to get screwed.

Yes I’ll support John McCain, I’m not all that happy with any of our candidates, but I’d support John McCain. He has the best chance of winning against Hillary or Obama. When he was a prisoner at the Hanoi Hilton they may have beat the living crap out of him, but they didn’t take away his ba—s. The only candidate I would not support is Rudy Guiliani.

Note to Republican Party hacks: If you want me to vote for your guy, make sure your guy is one I can vote FOR.

I see, according to you, the party should not even hold primaries. They should just check with you. No one else needs to vote anyway. You apparently, know it all.

I said I never would. . .but that was 'then'. . .

Now. . .for the sake of our Military - they deserves better than the insult a Dem would bring to their table - so, I would vote for McCain.

Commander Hillary - or any Dem - a massive insult to our Military - to their morale; to their goals - cannot do it.

Don’t fool yourself. McCain is a democrat with an R next to his name. You’re voting for a man with an R beside his name that is against tax cuts, against closing the border to illegals, is part of the Gang of 14 who stood next to the democrats threatening the “Nuclear Option”, condemned conservative talk radio more than once and is probably not fond of FR either.

If McCain is President we should only hope that republicans control BOTH houses just so we see gridlock.

There you go again with the personal insults. And you were doing so well, there. Looks like the effort made your head explode.

Rush Limbaugh references offend you, huh? How utterly unpredictable.

That's a very weak point, considering that the first two were party line votes, and Roberts got about half the 'Rat votes. Sure, if those seats were held by communist 'rats, the vote would probably have gone the other way. But communist 'rat isn't the only alternative to socialist RINO. Until folks like you realise that, though, we're going to be awash in socialist RINOS.

You see, this is where you get into trouble: RINOs aren't socialists. (I'll type slowly.) They are liberal on social issues and staunch capitalists economically. They are generally opposed to wealth redistribution. They are for tax cuts. They are pro-wealth. They are pro-corporations. They are for school choice, vouchers, enterprise zones, repealing the death tax and almost all of them are in favor of outlawing partial-birth abortions (off-topic but true).

Socialism is what modern Democrats espouse. It isn't what RINOs espouse, and it's the primary difference between them, because on social issues they are frequently indistinguishable from one another.

Due to their capitalist bent (and coupled with their pro-military stances) they are preferable to Democrats. Since they are preferable to Democrats in these areas, conservatives should vote for them if the choice is between the two in order to deny Democrats the platform to implement their twisted Socialist vision for America.

For what it is worth. I will vote for whoever the GOP man may be. I dispise with everything in my blood the Clintons and I will vote for whoever runs against her....

McVain is last on my list of our people running but I will vote for him if it comes down to it. I never stay at home and pout on election day.

No, never. He has been fighting to weaken the Republican party for years and I will not aid him in that quest.

Of course, letting the Socialists back in power will help the Republican party ==== and the sun rises in the west
