Always nice to deal with a rational adult....but in lieu of that

The man’s temper and temperment make him a more dangerous prospect for me. Call me any names you like, but that is how I see it after many years of observing him (his Star Wars performance during the 2000 election being on of the most disturbing.) He is petty, vindictive and a seemingly demented. I respect his stand on the war, his service, and have compassion for what he has been through, but still do not trust him. Although no Hillary fan by any means, I still think she is more rational than he is, and her anti war on terror stance is mostly for liberal consumption.

Oh, and sorry if I scare you.

I sure hope the Democrats have a bunch of like-minded voters (refusing to support a Demo candidate if their guy loses).

"I would have no problem voting for McCain over Hillary or Obama."

Then you should change your screen name here to West Coast Conservative Republican because conservative is one thing you are not

write in for President as a protest.

I have a hunch you don't have any close family member whose life is on the line every day in Iraq or Afghanistan...

a no vote or a protest vote is a vote against our troops, is spitting at their mission and their sacrifices, is aiding and abetting the enemies of our country who will pull the rug out from under the troops, our flag, our country and our freedoms.

They will be spitting on scenes like this.

I pray you folk with your super egos who think your one-issue is more important than all the others, will bring your heads up from the sand long enough to get a glimmer of light -

If this IS a one-issue election, that issue is the WOT...we let in the commies who will turn victory over to the islamofacists, your one=issue isn't going to matter long.

This old FR poll is pretty interesting.

Do you believe John McCain, the man who is personally leading the charge to shut down free speech on the Internet, should ever be considered as a presidential candidate?

When a RINO wins in New Hampshire and FReepers cheer, the GOP is dead.

I hear ya, B4Ranch! I don't know which discourages me more.

it is entirely possible to, without dirtying oneself, pick up a turd by the “clean end.”

Great line, and you're absolutely correct. Who cares how McCain thinks on the WOT when he opposes harsh questioning of WOT prisoners, wants to close Gitmo and give the prisoners Constitutional protections, and wants to leave the border wide open so any terrorist can walk right in.

While the Fairness Doctrine return would be a huge problem, I have to think we could defeat it like we defeated the shamnesty bill last year by mass action.

I guess you think who gets to make appointments to the Supreme Court is pretty much a yawn too.

And we almost got Harriett Miers. Dubya's Daddy gave us Souter, although he nominated Clarence Thomas. That Souter pick has really worked out well, hasn't it? Even Reagan gave us Sandra Day O'Connor.

I'm with Rush on this...I'm tired of carrying the water for these RINOs that stab us in the back every chance they get.

McCain's track record (CFR, Gang of 14, votes against tax cuts) has worn thin. Plus, his venality and condescension for those who disagree with him was in fully force in the last two debates.

Huckabee is a nanny-statist to the max. I've avoided getting personal, but if Huck were to make it to the WH, his 3 sons would make me long for the professionalism, eloquence, and common sense of Billy Carter.

Sorry, lasereye...one President from Hope, Arkansas in one lifetime is more than I can handle.

I voted against Carter (’for’ Ford in ‘76).

I voter FOR Reagan, twice. I wish he had not selected GHWB to for Vice, though. That was a horrible mistake.

I voted for GHWB in ‘88, on the hope that he might have learned a thing or two from RWR.

I believe I left the President line blank in ‘92. I read GHWB’s lips ... both on taxes and “assault weapons”.

I voted 3rd party in ‘96.

I voted FOR GWB in ‘00. I’ve been somewhat disappointed with him.

I voted for stable leadership in wartime in ‘04.

This is ‘08. The Republican Party has no excuses. GWB has been at best a lukewarm conservative ... we MUST do better.

I’ve ‘sat out’ Presidential elections before. I’ll do it again, if necessary.

The Republican Party does not own my vote. Earn it, or lose it.

Full stop, end of discussion.

I think the WOT will continue just the same under HRC

She said just 2 days ago that the first thing she would do is start bringing the troops home and have them all out w/n 6 months.

Translation: She will hand victory to the isamlofacists and bring the troops home in defeat.

I can't see where that would "the same" under a republican pres - especially McCain or Thompson - even, shudder, Guliani.

Anyone who does not cast a vote this election for republican to retain the WH is voting against our troops, our flag.our country and our freedoms

With McCain’s record, what makes you think he will appoint conservative judges?????

That's right, n00b.

It sure is right.

Refusing to vote for Turd & Stool, Republican candidates for President and Vice President, is not wasting your vote.

Conservatives aren't generally so vulgar...and they aren't usually so clueless. They usually have actual arguments to defend their positions, they know the difference between socialism and capitalism and they support the more conservative candidate over the less conservative candidate. They don't enable the election of troop-hating, wealth-redistributing tax-hikers by sitting out elections or voting third-party, and they generally aren't fellow-travelers with those who want to see us lose wars and gut our own military.

Here's a great big hint, Republican Party: don't nominate a turd.

Here's a hint for you: Stop talking to the Republican Party as though you have an interest in the election of a GOP candidate. As a non-Republican, you'll be just fine with a Democrat president.

Her name will be Hillary Clinton.

What, you mean voting for a socialist with an R after his name is better than voting for a socialist with a D after their name ?

I don’t think so.

What other choice would I have?

We would just have to hope for the best.

I don’t think the millions who comprise the listeners of conservative talk hosts, and the millions more who use the freedom of the Internet, would allow that.

We stopped shamnesty, and I guarantee even more would work to stop any attempt at censoring the Internet and talk radio.

Ah, yes. Because anyone who doesn’t want to join you in voting for Republicans who will wreck the economy and explode the size of governemnt wants to convert America to Islam. Childish, simplistic thinking at its finest. Explosive spending and uncontrolled spending that can throw us into ruin is actually more of a threat to Americans than terrorism.

Here’s a more likely scenario. Republicans nominate a liberal like Huckabee, McCain or Guiliani and get their @$$ handed to them. Two years later they get Congress back, control the purse strings, control the agenda and block the Dem, like they did during Clinton.

But I’m sure the Kool-Aid chuggers won’t take the time to think about that. It’s much easier to just wildly claim that Osama bin Laden will kick in your door and force you to read the Koran unless everyone votes for the candidate they’re told to.
