We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
intellectual prowess? YUP thats what dem dere liburuls call it when they supoort those homosexualized agendas and abortion choices...

I truly do understand how you feel, You Dirty Rats. I hope you find comfort in knowing that there are many fellow FReepers who were also appalled at much of what has gone on here. I know I was. There is never a good excuse for treating others the way some have done. Some were banned because they stepped over the line, but others are still here and they stepped over that line and beyond.
And your comments about Ronald Reagan are spot on. He was a gentlemen. He could be tough as nails, but he would never have stooped to such low levels of common decency. Some invoke the name of Reagan and I agree that some have done so in a way that he would be ashamed of. Some even take that name as their own and disgrace his memory by posting hateful things.
I wish you’d stay, but I understand why you won’t. We need all the good, decent people we can get around here.

Can’t resist one comment on “Wideawakes,” and the irony of their choice of that name.
The original “Wideawakes” were radical abolitionists who were sick and tired of the compromised and cowardly Whig Party. They were third party radicals who had made up their minds that the scourge, the injustice, of slavery WAS going to end.
And yet, one of the primary links on the front of Ivan’s site says something like “no third parties.”
The folks who have gone over there, generally speaking, are about as far away from the spirit of the Wideawakes as you can possibly get. When it comes to the central moral question of our day - the scourge and injustice of abortion - they are a group of stone-cold Whigs.
May they all end up on the political ash heap of history where they rightfully belong.

Oh yes 'they' can and do complete the applications, they own the process lock, stock, and barrel. 'They' monitor their opponents very closely to protect that treasure. When the term corporate welfare gets used, think intellectual welfare they do it better than anyone.
