Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I’m getting ready to set up my bird feeders. I planted a crabapple just for the birds...and I suspect to do some other planting for my wild friends...

“What’s the difference between doing it at home and doing it in public, except that everyone can see what a fool you’re making of yourself?”

How about... the purpose behind it? Ever seen “Some Like It Hot,” or is that too perverted for you?

Sheesh.

“I googled that phrase and found 169 references but they seemed to assume I already knew what it meant. Would you mind enlightening me and anybody else who was too young for Vietnam?”

I was too young for Vietnam too, I served 82nd ABN 2/508 PIR, 80-84. It’s just a generic payback type statement. Sometimes more serious than others. The eighty-deuce was and is a rough unit of guys willing to jump out of airplanes. Some were pretty crazy. But good crazy. I pray for my old unit and everybody else serving now every night.

“A lot of verbiage there to not say anything. Wouldn’t a simple NO I don’t do anything but tap on my keyboard have sufficed?”

Wouldn’t minding your own business suffice? No, I guess not. Glad to know that you are so familiar with what I do, or don’t do, with my time. Feel free to waste more "verbiage" on me if it makes you feel better--that's what I'm here for. Have a lovely day now.

“So, Mo1, where’s the evidence? I’ve never seen any thread on that.”

I’m guessing by all the pings that include Jim .. I am next on your target list??

but if you insist ... here is one thread that mentions 3 former directors with concerns about Gilchrist and the money raised

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1804668/posts
(snip)
Three Minuteman directors voted in January to oust Gilchrist and two other directors, citing concerns over accounting and possible fundraising improprieties.

But Gilchrist says he is the sole member of the board of directors – he has a corporate filing from September that says so – and that the others are part of an advisory board with no decision-making power and no authority to remove him.

The three directors being sued by Gilchrist said they tried unsuccessfully to get him to address concerns in December, and after his removal still tried to make the peace with him.

“For the record, the original troll attacker was, unsurprisingly, fact-challenged.”

I figured that, but I was amused by the idea that he thought that was some big time attack.

As such a solid defender of FR and it’s founder you are under some serious attack, and the subject of a lot of conversation on the anti-freeper sites.

I love this time of year, except that I either have to do my deck (powerwash, stain, seal) or pay to have it done, and I need a new grill ........I really have to get busy, I love this time of year...

>>For the record, the original troll attacker was, unsurprisingly, fact-challenged.<<

Since that chatter has been going on for a couple of years and its annoying chatter that mainly has the effect of reducing discussion about Ambassador Keyes, I’m glad you adressed the facts.

My point was that you shouldn’t have to. Its good for Freep to have members who are active in conservative politics and they are entitled to the same privacy as the rest of us.

Disclaimer: I do not support Keyes for President - I see him more as a Bolton style troubleshooter for a future President.

Thanks for the explanation.

I feel for the guys over there. DD Hunter made the point that it was his mom who have the hardest time with him going back for a third tour - its really the families too, not just the troops who need to feel the country supports them in the difficult, dangerous job of protecting a fledging democracy.

Wouldn’t minding your own business suffice?

Then take it off open forum.

I've fought bullies most of my life and I recognize them when I see them. You and a handful of others have become what you claim to despise...bullies, only you wear a different coat than the liberals.

FR has replaced one set of bullies for another.

The king is dead, long live the king!

Mo1 does alot for raising money for Free Republic. NautiNurse has the best hurricane threads on the net !!!!

Mo1 supports Duncan Hunter for President. NautiNurse was a big Katherine Harris booster.

Hardly liberal or RINO-istic tendencies.

I for one am not mourning the loss of posters who made a habit of belittling and insulting the Christian conservative values this site is supposed to represent.

But I'd hate to make this place uncomfortable for good, solid folks ... just because their pragmatic streak is a little wider than mine or we disagree on an issue or two.

And so far, I have no reason to think that management here desires to cross that line either.

“its really the families too, not just the troops who need to feel the country supports them in the difficult, dangerous job of protecting a fledging democracy.”

Absolutely. If a military person gets killed or wounded seriously - that family lives with that for a lifetime. We have to make sure that these wounded guys aren’t forgotten about and that our government attends to them carefully. They give so much during this WOT.

I wanted to make sure you saw the historical reference.

I think Ernst Rohm saw it too when he observed "all revolutions devour their own children".

Fortunately, the situations that Monsieur Robespierre and Herr Rhohm were facing have little or nothing in common with Jim Robinson's cleaning house here on FR.
