Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Worse now.

I am not pushing to vote conservative party or whatever. I want us to come together to get someone all of us can vote for, holding our noses or not.

Time to settle down and say: What am I going to do today? What am I going tomorrow? How do I keep the conservative movement alive through the primary system? I

That is kind of hard to do when so many are afraid to post their opinion

I definitely see where you would be offended. I wouldn’t want to be called a Rino or a Rooty supporter. That’s the same as “metrosexual” in my book.

WE have to get past that point.

I guess we all have a bit of the “‘til I’m not”” in us but in the last number of months I saw more and more of the “I’m not” going on here and I have been here since 2001.

All I've done is stand up in defense of some of my Freeper friends who I feel have been treated shoddily here in the last week.

You mean all those liberals that got banned? Take it up with the boss. I think the message is clear, don't support liberals on a Conservative forum, simple concept really.

And that makes me a liberal?

If it quacks like a duck, I guess that makes you a quacker! As I said earlier to another, masquerading as a Conservative isn't that hard to do. The work comes in maintaing the lie. Some are better at it than others. Time here is NO indicator. Support of liberals is a dead giveaway. If you circle this forum with your left turn signal flashing, well? Why do you think I through out to you the "Right turn Clyde", remark? Blackbird.

I don’t think so. The bans have slowed to a crawl.

The Rudy Rooters NEVER had a whole lot of support here, they just made a lot of noise in an attempt to fool everyone. IMO, there have been very few surprises on the list of those who have been banned or left on their own. The bans have essentially stopped because all of the FRiberals have been rooted out.

I find that very interesting. All of the conservatives that I know feel freed up by all of this.

Jim's stated principles are a wonderful catalyst. Only thing is, that catalyst works in different ways in the medium of different hearts.

LOL Yes, it was offensive, but oh well. I’m sure my other internet friends know me well enough to know where I truly stand on this issue. :)

I kinduv like the bugzapper as a concept and like the pic as well. It is just a light, not bait. Critters just fly into it, just can’t help it.

My post wasn’t meant as “bait” whatsoever. I have no control over how you choose to interpret it.

I will say it again - this thread would dwindle, whither, and die within the hour if the whiners and entitlement babies would merely stop posting to it. They are the ones who are keeping it alive.

It is time to get on with the business of supporting conservatism and countering liberalism. The last I heard, this is the stated intent of FreeRepublic. I wonder who will continue down that path and who will continue with the teeth-gnashing, the hand-wringing, and the hair-rending? ;’}

You're the one labeling the thread he wrote and posted derogatorily. Take it up with him, or else I would say that it is you who is being more than a bit "dodgy."

That one’s not really a dodge. He stated what he felt was appropriate, and those who agreed with him came here to say, we understand this is a conservative site first. Others came and said, “We don’t agree that you should run a site with those as the core values. We haven’t compromised anything by backing this guy.”

And he said, “Yes you have, because this is what he has stood for.”

And they yelled at him, and he warned them, and then banned those who wouldn’t take no for an answer. And some asked to have their accounts closed, and some just left.

And others, having dealt with bad times from some who got banned for rude behavior, were happy.

He started it. And it was a bait thread, if you call a declaration of what FR is about and what type of candidate is conservative by the owner of the site a baiting, a lightning rod thread.

If there is this type of division in feeling, it might explain why so many came here to get hit on the lightning rod.

I remember Duke v. Edwards (vote for the crook—it’s important) YIKES!!!

Anyway, I hope I’m not hijacking this thread here, but I have been trying to do homework on the candidates. I have a new issue I am very concerned with and that is food safety (pet & human) and our free trade system (particularly with China) Just last week Alabama has banned seafood from China because it contains illegal antibiotics and such. Not to mention the wheat gluten, rice protein and corn gluten problems making it’s way into pet and human consumption. We are importing Chinese crawfish into Louisiana for goodness sakes and it’s cheaper thn buying local stuff!

Kevmo has been kind enough to point out that Duncan Hunter is taking a stand on this issue and I wanted to learn more. What is the difference between free trade and fair trade?

Is there a good reason why we are importing things such as wheat, corn etc... that cam be grown here instead of paying subsidies? Wouldn’t it help our economy to keep it here? Or am I missing something? I would appreciate any info.

Why is this not more of an issue?
Thanks!

I agree. I also shouldn’t have taken the “bait” that someone was trolling in front of me. But dang it all, when someone misrepresents your opinion it’s quite difficult to let them get away with it. LOL ;)
