Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

"It’s not a mortal sin if the choice is between Hillary and Rudy. It’s called the lesser of two evils."

Now THAT would truly be a choice between two evils and an instance when the cliche is true.

Ahhh, all good comments......but, alas, Rudy yearns to be top dog. I have my doubts that he will get it.

I had to choose between David Duke and Edwin Edwards once...there were no lesser of two evils there...just which set of evils I wanted for my state...I went with the Edwards flavor, and he did not disappoint...

Lando Lincoln is obviously not happy to be part of FR anymore. The boldness of conservatism has been replenished and the hotair from the malcontents has been purged. The truth is being posted and he can't stand it. The other site is more to his liking and he says so in no uncertain terms.

***** My first post. Some of you know who I am from another forum. Ah, the air is fresh here! ***** ~~~ Lando Lincoln @ the other site

If there is anybody else on the ballot who is pro-life, it is. That statement is true if there are ONLY 2 candidates.

>>I figured you for a dog, I didn’t realize you were big.<<

Have you lost your mind posting to a female Freeper like that? - beside common courtesy that should prevent such posts to anyone, political discussion forums tend to be largely male and when we are lucky enough to have significant female participation we should be grateful.

>>>>Too many very good people have been banned because they took issue, most in a respectful way, with the new order here on FR. An unfortunately I'm not liking what I'm seeing with them. No more room for respectful dissent here.

There is no new order on Free Republic. The mission for FR remains the same. The goals and objectives have always been to advance conservatism, promote conservative candidates and defend the Constitution. Nothings changed. The anti-liberal and anti-Rudy rhetoric has been kicked up a notch. That's all. Liberalism was never respected on this forum. Never will be.

>>Frankly, I’ve always enjoyed Mad Ivan, and his posts.
And, I was on his ping list.

“WideAwakes wouldn’t be the first forum with a “secret room”.”

Of course they aren’t.
BUT...WHY would any forum feel the need for a “secret room?”
<<

Just about every group of friends likes to be able to talk privately. A forum has three choices - be totally private, have no private place to talk or to have a non-public room. Many choose to have a private room so they can have the rest of the forum open to the public.

Since no candidates seem to grasp the the fact that we are at war,...

Duncan Hunter not only understands we are at war, he, unlike Rudy and the others, is actively involved in combating the terrorists and the Dems.

Meanwhile, his son is deploying to Iraq for the third time.

Alexis de Tocqueville, French author and philosopher of renown who came on extended stay in America to find out the secret of the success of the American Independence:

"Upon my arrival in the United States, the religious aspect of the country was the first thing that struck my attention…The Americans combine the notions of Christianity and of liberty so intimately in their minds, that it is impossible to make them conceive the one without the other…Religion in America…must…be regarded as the foremost of the political institutions of that country…From the earliest settlement of the emigrants, politics and religion contracted an alliance which has never been dissolved."

"Religion in America takes no direct part in the government of society, but it must be regarded as the first of their political institutions; for if it does not impart a taste for freedom, it facilitates the use of it. Indeed, it is in this same point of view that the inhabitants of the United States themselves look upon religious belief. I do not know whether all Americans have a sincere faith in their religion- or who can search the human heart?- but I am certain that they hold it to be indispensable to the maintenance of their political institutions."

From Democracy In America, 1835

Yep...that’s what I’m worried about, judgeships...and distrust of NYC world views, where even the conservative views are liberal by the standards of most of the country. I don’t judge his heart, and good intentions...but I know I don’t think he’s the right man for the job!

Its a free country.

Actually, that proposition is far more worthy of discussion and debate than the many tit-for-tat "grudge points" being endlessly recycled in this thread...

I’m having so much trouble keeping up. You have a real cruel side, new cruelty. That kind of practical joke definitely puts you on my make-sure-I-ignore list... on April Fool’s Day. You’d obviously wipe the floor with me. Props on your joking-around kung fu.

It’s not up to you to police it nor me, but dmw found something in the public domain that strikes me as kind of telling and it goes to whether or not LL is operating from a biased or hypocritical perspective. Basically, it discredits what he’s trying to say — in the middle of a battle he tells one side to lay down their arms but not the other side.
