A study released by the Rasmussen Reports polling firm on Good Friday found that 64% of Americans believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
While Americans who believe in the resurrection remain in the majority, that number is down significantly when compared to a Rasmussen Poll that asked the same question, released a year ago.

Interesting.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;
1Co 15:6 then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;
1Co 15:7 then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;
1Co 15:8 and last of all, as unto one born out of due time, he appeared to me also.
Matt 24:9-14 (KJV)
...the love of many will wax (grow) cold. That is, they will turn away from God. For instance, they will stop believing in the resurrection.
That kind of change in one year suggests there’s something going in with the poll, not a major change in Americans’ religious belief.
Why would anyone ask anyone that question?
And yet... “The Bible” was tops in the ratings, even though it was on the History Channel, not a traditional network.
Go Figure.
Percent Of Americans Believing In The Resurrection Drops To 64% From 77% Last Easter
The road to Hell is slow but steady..........
13% in one year....I don’t think so.
You are right that the poll is probably off but America is on the same path as Europe in terms of being less religious. Even “believers” many times don’t go to church or participate in other religious activities. As older Americans die off, this percentage will drop, sadly. Society is on a secular path and nothing is changing that trend. I don’t like the trend but its true — when I think back to even 20 or 30 years ago, society was much more religious.
This is disinformation to go along with what they thought would be an athiest victory in the USSC over the cross.
The problem is, they didn't win.
There will probably be other bogus "polls" and "studies" out this week or next. Whenever they think they have a victory in the bag, they plan ahead to have this stuff come out to help preempt anyone who manages to break through the media defenses and get heard by the public.

2. A year ago people lied about their religious beliefs, while this year they are emboldened to speak thier minds OR:
3. Folks who felt free to tell the truth last year are lying this year to conceal their religious beliefs.
Yet the questions has to be asked, if this lack of belef is so, why did a tv miniseries called “ The Bible “ gain traction in viewer response?
Could it be a sign of a great “hunger and thirst” for what is right and true?
I have my doubts about this poll also, coming in light of the recent sucess of the History Channel’s “ The Bible “.
.....And this contradicts the recent sucess of “ The Bible “ miniseries.
OR:
4. A year of immersion in the relentless 24/7 “gay marriage” propaganda (quite possibly culminating in the eradication of DOMA) has swept away a large number of shallowly rooted believers who have rejected their superficial faith under the incessant barrage of Christian bashing.
I don't think that there was a huge swing in the number of Christians in the past 12 months. If the poll is true it is just the chaff falling away from the wheat.
However,those who believe in zombies rose to 77%!
Well...36% say they don’t believe. The number...whether it is increasing or decreasing is irrelevant. The real question is...DO YOU BELIEVE?
My work as a Deacon and preacher/teacher is to “Believe what I read (Sacred Scriptures). Teach what I believe. Practice what I teach.; to serve God’s people through baptism and evangelization. I love evangelizing the lost and will do all I can to help that 36%, because God wants that and Jesus died and rose for that reason.

I believe this poll. With more Americans embracing secularism, it would stand to reason that their religious beliefs would erode. You cannot serve two masters. Many have chosen new false idols.
