Granted, but I would suggest that such "believers" would be in my category 2, people with minimal or no convictions who for cultural or social reasons pretended to be Christians last year but this year are emboldened to "out" themselves as nonbelievers.

I don't think that there was a huge swing in the number of Christians in the past 12 months. If the poll is true it is just the chaff falling away from the wheat.
