I have my doubts about this poll also, coming in light of the recent sucess of the History Channel’s “ The Bible “.
I don’t think the success of the series means much. If it’s entertaining, people will watch it regardless whether they believe. Bible stories are interesting in their own right. To an atheist, it’s just another work of fiction.
