NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A self-defense claim is under investigation in Nashville after a pregnant woman was shot in a Walgreens parking lot on the city’s east side, forcing doctors to perform an emergency cesarean section and deliver her premature baby.
The shooting took place around 8 p.m. Wednesday on the city’s east side.
Police said an employee at the Walgreens location was notified by another employee that two women were stealing items from the store. The employee told police he saw the women putting items into a store cart and a large over-the-shoulder bag. He said he then began recording the women with his cellphone and followed them as they left the store without paying for the items.

I liked the fat fat turd from last week, who tried to walk out with $1000 groceries in her shopping cart. And claiming it was Reparations. Left unanswered was what do you put in your cart to total up to $1000?
Lobster, king crab, prime steaks I suppose. By the end, she got punched in the face by store security. Ended up on her ass.
You have to read some of the article to find out that the woman sprayed him with mace.
You won’t get that from the headline alone.
He shot her not once, but several times and she is in critical condition.
If you aren’t law enforcement do you follow and engage people if you are fearing violence that justifies deadly force? Or you watch them walk out the door and then lock it?
You think an innocent baby should pay for a shoplifter’s crime?
“That’s when he said one of the women pulled a can of mace and began spraying him.”
Self defense is justified when someone is in the process of assaulting you. Perhaps he could be in trouble for using disproportionate force though.
I don’t think that matters. He was following her and recording her while confronting her about something that she may or may not have done. If you are a very pregnant woman and some creepy guy is following you to your car and accusing you of things while recording a video of your reaction, you are going to feel threatened.
What crime did that baby commit?
In Tennessee, are the laws against injury to an innocent pre-born child?
If he was following her, accusing her of things that she may or may not have done, and recording her reaction on video, those are all threatening actions, and she has a self-defense justification, but I don’t think he does.
“This employee is likely in trouble”
I’d say definitely.

If you have a gun on you and someone disables you with Mace they can take your gun and kill you, this is self defense. Likely sole more than $100 worth of stuff making it a felony. Woman in a heap a trouble.
May or may not have done?
Suuuuuure. He’s got them on video leaving the store with a loaded cart without paying. And no, a security guard following you and asking you not to steal is not a “threatening” action that justifies assault.
Read the news article. The baby wasn't injured by the gunfire.
Pregnant women should demand to be called they or them? Why? It’s not a human being in her belly. It’s a blob of tissue. /S obviously
Tennessee also has a “stand your ground” law.
I think that the shoplifting criminal mother made that choice when she maced the Walmart employee. Any harm to the child is 100% on her. If I think that a pregnant woman is going to cause me significant bodily harm and macing seems to be a good indicator that she’s going to then she doesn’t get to hide behind a child.
Tell me do you think you would be any less dead if a pregnant woman killed you? I’d like to know.
Being sprayed with mace is not just disrespecting someone, it’s an assault.
News articles note that is what he was doing when one of the shoplifters attacked him with a chemical spray.
I have no clue
Black on black as employee was black
East Nashville is boho
Uke flags
Gay crap
Expensive tall and skinny’s and bungalows
Gentrifying in every direction
Gallatin road is still shabby looking
Madison to the north is marginal in many places
East Nashville is one Nashville premier lefty neighborhoods no question and it’s expansive
If he was following her, accusing her of things that she may or may not have done, and recording her reaction on video, those are all threatening actions, and she has a self-defense justification, but I don’t think he does.

If there is a recording that proves guilt then your argument is of no value.
The recording will show the woman knew what she was doing. The Store employee confronted her as a store employee about the theft. There was no “may or may not have done”, only done.
