Alternatively, you may write your own statement in lieu of filling out a complaint form. To do so:

Write your own statement. Your statement should include your name and address, your attorney's name and address, and an explanation of the circumstances and details of your complaint. Attach any relevant documents you have and send it by fax to (202) 638-0862, by email to odcinfo@dcodc.org, or by mail to:

Office of Disciplinary Counsel Board on Professional Responsibility District of Columbia Court of Appeals 515 5th Street NW Building A, Suite 117 Washington, DC 20001 Supporting documents, such as copies of a retainer agreement, proof of payment, correspondence between you and your attorney, the case name and number if a specific case is involved, and copies of papers filed in connection with the case, may be useful to our investigation.

Filing a complaint against an attorney is a serious matter. Do so only as a last resort when all efforts to work out the problem with your attorney have failed.

Usually, bars do not handle complaints about judges. Complaints about federal judges are handled under the Judicial Conduct and Disabilities Act by the judge's court. Here's an FAQ on how to file complaints in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia: https://www.uscourts.gov/judges-judgeships/judicial-conduct-disability/faqs-filing-judicial-conduct-or-disability-complaint#faq-Where-do-I-file-my-complaint?

As a rule, though, complaints by members of the general public about a judge's official conduct are not going to get much attention. Those sorts of complaints should be directed to your Congressman with a request that he be impeached.

But did the Judge use this simple procedure to report to the bar the prosecutor who violated his discovery Oder and intentionally withheld exculpatory evidence?
