Health care has always been a top issue for voters in midterm and presidential elections. But in 2020, health care is actually rated as the most important.
Why?
Because in 2020, Americans know we may be voting on health care for the last time.
If, God forbid, the radical left were ever to enact their vision for government-controlled health care, Americans wouldnt even be able to vote on health care again because private health insurance would be permanently eliminated, forcing 176 million of us into a government-run monopoly.
While some may equivocate by advocating a time-delayed release of socialized medicine, the Democrats running for President do not differ on their fundamentally radical ideology, inspired by self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders:
And just like that, health care is gone, too, because socialized medicine is not a pipedream but a nightmare it would make waiting in line at the DMV seem like a Disney FastPass.
Just ask Canadians with pre-existing conditions who voted to implement their own version of Medicare for All only to enjoy epic wait-times, with over 1 million patients stuck waiting for care in 2017, forfeiting not only their health, but also billions of (Canadian) dollars in lost wages. And for those lucky enough to score appointments, lack of patient safety safeguards has resulted in the frequency of debilitating medical errors reaching epidemic levels.
You could also talk to UK voters who also were promised a National Health Service, only to receive no service rejected procedures deemed non-urgent by a faceless cabal who also deny experimental treatments to the terminally ill. Due to deadly, denied, and delayed care, UK death rates are four times higher than the U.S., reaching seven times higher for the most vulnerable.
Our own Uncle Sam is no MD, either. Yet for decades, health care lobbying has consistently run into the billions of dollars, resulting in Obamacares test-run in government-controlled healthcare, a patchwork quilt of special interest giveaways that crashed the American health care system just as its $6 billion website foreshadowed.
Remember when the VA refused to fire medical professionals who were guilty of injuring or even killing patients, while also forcing veterans to wait months for appointments and treatments? Or when the FDA insisted on making life-and-death decisions for patients, then waiting sometimes 15 years to approve certain medications while denying access to experimental treatments for the terminally ill?
When the government runs health care, patients lose. We elected President Trump in 2016, and will again in 2020, because no one has fought harder than he to unrig the medical establishments vise-grip over government agencies and peoples lives. President Trump has gotten rid of more than 7,600 VA employees who were mistreating our heroes. Veterans are now able to skip the lines at VA hospitals and use their benefits to receive treatment elsewhere. The FDA is safely and effectively cutting the drug approval process time in half, approving historic levels of low-cost generic drugs, while also giving the Right to Try to those who do not have the luxury of time to wait.
Americans may be divided on many political issues, but we are virtually united in our low opinion of Congress, which is run by all-talk, no-action politicians who pursue resistance rather than results.
Why would we hand over the power over our life-and-death decisions to the same Do-Nothing Democrats who couldnt even manage to provide health care to our veterans?
Not on our lives.
There aren’t 6 voted in the Senate for Medicare for all much less 60.
All I can say is, Americans need to not be dumped by providers, when they need care.
That is completely, immoral.
The number of immoralities in the present system is quite significant.
You have identified why some variant if “Medicare for all” is inevitable.
If “needing care” is the highest value of the system (and it more or less is, or we wouldn’t have a $23 trillion deficit), then denial of care because of inability to pay cannot survive.
Donald Trump is President, IMO, because he promised the 60 000 Democrats he needed in the midwest that he was working on a “great plan” that would “cover everybody”.
I’ve NEVER heard of that happening.
Kinda sounds like a dem selling point that is much more THAT than a real problem.
I won’t press this too firmly, because I LOVE FR.
Jim Thompson let me know, he did not appreciate me getting carried away on this issue.
But there is a reason so many get very worked up about American healthcare.
1) It is the most expensive anywhere. Anywhere.
2) Lots of Americans are not covered.
That is simply unacceptable.
Bro NONE OF US have to tow the party line on EVERY issue.
I don’t and I got NO PROBLEM saying it when I don’t.
We don’t want a DU groupthink here either.
And trust me, if i’m still here, you can speak your mind on healthcare and be ok.
I dont mind entertaining the idea of health care for underprivileged, only if there was a rock solid wall blocking illegals from it. Its more difficult for actual American citizens to get healthcare right now, versus your average illegal walking into the emergency room.
Nope.
I actually came ‘ ‘ this close several years ago.
For real. If I had not climbed down immediately, I would have been gone.
Poof.
For real.
Did I mention, I love this site?
:)
Blocking illegals doesn’t really solve anything either, because I can see rats agreeing to that, knowing that amnesty fixes that little problem.
People who want unlimited access to high-quality health care at minimal expense are delusional, and delusional people inevitably end up with a totalitarian government that dispels their delusions with unfortunate results.
My solution is to eliminate medical insurance entirely. Its amazing how inexpensive things even medical procedures often get when you have to pay for them out of your own pocket.
Wow.
I love the site and would be HEARTBROKEN to get kicked off.
But I am stupid and haven’t backed off from what I believe and won’t in the future.
I AGREE with your 2 points on healthcare here, I just don’t really care that not everybody has it. Boy that sounds cold lol.
But i would MUCH RATHER debate it with you than get you kicked off or just curse you out.
Now NOT SUPPORTING TRUMP IN GENERAL IS a great reason to get kicked off.
AND I DO want those people gone, to be honest.
But NEITHER ONE OF US COME CLOSE to that category.
The herd mentality of agreeing with every issue NEVER works out well.
Anyway, I ENJOY your threads and your posts very much and continue to look forward to them.
So don’t say too much about healthcare :)
Or PM me :)
Commie care still not repealed.
Heh.
I agree, Trump rocks.
The sad thing is that a totalitarian state is not NECESSARY for a functioning universal system, but as the pressure builds and builds, as it has been doing under the waves, so to speak, for many years - if the only people with a plan are communists, a communist plan is what you will get.
And if the only government that will deliver it is a communist one, then you will get that, too.
You have to eliminate insurance, that’s a key - but remember, back in the day, Blue Cross (which preceded Blue Shield) was created because hospital care, in the 1930s already, had become unaffordable.
Hill-Burton sealed the deal in 1948. Hospitals would be built with Federal money to Federal standards (which continue to escalate to this day), and as with all Federal standards, money is no object.
If you kill off the insurance companies (a very good idea), the hospitals have to become public utilities, or be outright nationalized.
People have not been able to pay out of pocket to sustain the hospital-pharma complex for almost 90 years, and it’s too late now to start.
UK National Health Service to Deny Treatment to Racists and Sexists
What could possibly go wrong?
https://summit.news/2019/11/05/uk-national-health-service-to-deny-treatment-to-racists-and-sexists/
This is even worse than Chinas social credit score, which to my knowledge doesnt yet punish people by withdrawing medical treatment if they engage in wrongthink.
First it was deplatforming people from social media websites, then it was deplatforming people from bank accounts and mortgages. Now its deplatforming people from hospital treatment.
Literally eliminating peoples right to basic health care because of their political or social opinions.
This is where were at, and this is why the UK is truly the capital of Clown World Order.
Solution: Convert casinos on indian land into free market hospitals. No regulations.
That's not because the universal system by its nature won't work without a totalitarian state, but because human nature will inevitably lead to individuals demanding more care than they are willing to pay for.
