Sounds typical. Most times, cops can’t be bothered nor will they do anything until after something bad happens.
They won’t even take the name of the person really?
I am speculating that this is CNNs way of pushing for the Red Flag laws. Of course any flag that gets raised as a result of this scenario would lead to abuse. Just think about anyone calling the police and registering a concern about their neighbor.
Best if our government leave well enough alone.
Red Flag laws are not going to work without trampling peoples rights!
They wont even take the name of the person really?

I believe 911 calls are automatically ID’d as to location. If you call in my county and are hysterical or inarticulate, they do know your location and often will come and check it out.
>> cops cant be bothered
And instead of improving performance, the 2nd Amendment gets trampled on.
Another law will fix that! /s
She could have found that out online. I think she wanted a little help finding out what she could do about it.
If this is true, it was a mother’s cry for help. She knew there was a problem. The police did nothing.
that call would be recorded by the 9/11 system.

I suspect CNN’s unusual candor in reporting on this matter has more to do with ATT being the parent corp.
ATT isn’t completely off the rails, and I wouldn’t be surprised if its executive management forced the more objective reporting.
Imagine that: objective reporting.
I’ve called the police on several occasions after hearing gunshots in my neighborhood. Their response was underwhelming.
One time, they drove a cruiser around with light off looking around and left. Another time, they sent no one. Waiting for ambulances to be called apparently.
When I was younger, the response would have been vigorous.
How the hell would a red flag law work without a name? He didn’t break the law as long as he bought it legally and wasn’t a felon. Notice mom mentions his age, but not his mental condition.
Yellow tape and chalk.
‘See something; say something’ really does not seem to work all that well.
Maybe we need for laws for more background checks. [/s]
Unless the lawyer was present during the call, he/she has just the client's word to go on. Looking to protect from lawsuits.
If we say something, DO something!
Only if she called 911. The cops have non-emergency lines, too.
