Navy acknowledges request regarding USS John S. McCain made for Trump visit
CNN ^ | Fri May 31, 2019 | Barbara Starr and Caroline Kelly

The US Navy acknowledged Friday that a request had been made regarding the USS John S. McCain in relation to President Donald Trump's visit to Japan, but said the ship ended up remaining in its normal configuration.

The statement continues a saga stemming from emails exchanged between the White House and lower-level US Navy officials about keeping a warship named for the late Sen. John McCain's father and grandfather out of sight ahead of the President's trip.

"A request was made to the U.S. Navy to minimize the visibility of USS John S. McCain, however, all ships remained in their normal configuration during the President's visit," Rear Adm. Charlie Brown, chief of Navy information, said in a statement. "There were also no intentional efforts to explicitly exclude Sailors assigned to USS John S. McCain."

Brown added that the Navy is "fully cooperating with the review of this matter tasked by" acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan.

Two Navy officials told CNN on Wednesday that the White House Military Office had asked lower-level US Navy officials about keeping the ship out of view -- an impractical request as the ship was under repair, one of the officials said.

"Once leadership heard about it, they said knock it off," a senior Navy official told CNN.

*** The ship ultimately was not moved nor was the name obscured, said Cmdr. Clay Doss, a spokesman for the 7th Fleet. ***

False Flag event!

If such a request WAS made, it was made by a Trump hater!

My guess is over zealous incompetence and stuff at this low a level is far below what POTUS is involved with

Gonna guess the staffer that screwed the pooch gets a new position but understandable if not doxxed given the absolute insanity of the left and its rage of personal destruction

Not to mention the fact that sleeping sailors died because the Bridge somehow got the McCain schlonged by a tanker

Not one of the US Navy’s finest hours

The USS JOHN S. MCCAIN is named after McShame’s father and grandfather, not the bastard that became a U.S. Senator. The initial “S” should give it away!

He, along with John Kerry and Donald Rumsfeld, let down the more than 100 POWs still in Southeast Asia, mostly Laos, in 1991, when the three said there was no credible evidence any any surviving POws in Southeast Asia. There existed ground and/or aerial photographic evidence for each of the more than 100 POWs.

Just like President Eisenhower let down the more than 100 Korean POWs when no effort was made to negotiate their release or rescue. We know the more than 100 here, because, after the armistice was signed, more than 100 POWs in the North escaped custody and crossed into South Korea or were otherwise rescued.

And yet another example of Trump's failure to purge his administration of people who are deliberately working to undermine him.

More importantly, what did he do to deserve having a ship named after him? Other than being a POW, who received special treatment, by all accounts he was a moron who should have never got into the Naval Academy, was a lousy and reckless pilot and a lousy Naval Officer. Got everything because of his name, not for actually earning it.

So, because he was “a juvenile back-stabbing inept, RINO, POS loser” they name a ship after him?

Oops: McShame has the same middle name but the Navy didn’t intend to include him.

First off, it’s a “ship”, not a boat...

Common Sailor parlance. I work on the flight deck of Eisenhower and I call her a boat as in, "I'm going to the boat next week. Mow the lawn while I'm gone."

They should decommission anything with McCain’s name on it.

Its always “ someone” or “ many”. Never a definitive “who, when, what, where, why”

And that’s what irritates me about the overuse of ‘deep state.’ It’s a conspiracist version of ‘the dog ate my homework.’

True, anything written by CNN should have an “entertainment purposes only” tag on it.

It either suggests that the President himself ordered it through the White House Military Office which is disgraceful or that someone underneath the President ordered it without the President's approval, --in which case Trump employs staffers who are either incompetent or deliberately trying to make him look bad.
So no matter how YOU see it, the President is an incompetent douche bag.

The way I see it written YOU are an anti-Trump douche bag. You sure you're on the right website?

Per Wikipedia:

On 11 July 2018, at a rededication ceremony, Senator John McCain was added as a namesake, along with his father and grandfather.
