Former Vice President Joe Biden, the leading Democrat in the 2020 White House race, is facing new pushback this week after a series of quotes from 2007 resurfaced online in which he said Iowa had better schools than Washington, D.C., while mentioning their differences in demographics.
"There's less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with," Biden told the Washington Post at the time.
"When you have children coming from dysfunctional homes, when you have children coming from homes where there's no books, where the mother from the time they're born doesn't talk to them -- as opposed to the mother in Iowa who's sitting out there and talks to them, the kid starts out with a 300 word larger vocabulary at age three. Half this education gap exists before the kid steps foot in the classroom."

Why do I keep seeing old quotes that I agree with made by him?
Did he just say what he needed to in front of certain crowds at certain times?
Or was he less left once?
Alinsky gonna bite him in the ass.
Everybody in politics says whatever they think their audience wants to hear at any particular moment. They always have. The difference is the Democrat media has always been able to cover it up.
Now we have alternative media.
Yeah I see the HORRIFIC things FB and twitter are doing but if that winds its way to the SC, we will be in good shape.
OVERALL, the internet has been our friend.
Maybe if it was around in the 60s an 70s, morons like Cronkite don’t to dictate how good or bad the Vietnam War was going.
I dunno.
How dare Biden say something so commonsensical? Doesn’t he know that there’s no place for that in the Democratic party?
Thanks knighthawk.
His past quotes are biting him in the rear!
My older daughter and her family live in Des Moines, Iowa. Very nice family-oriented town. Two of our grandchildren are in schools there, and the schools are excellent. The teachers and admins are focused on skill-building for the kids, lots of science is promoted. Wonderful libraries and science museums. And few trouble-making kids, if you know what I mean.
I know what you mean.
It sounds wonderful.
Seems they have to go back more than a decade to find
something he has said that makes any sense!

Sounds like Hillary’s bunch is moving in for the knock-out now.
Biden was echoing the Clintons-----then-Pres Bill signed into law stiffer penalties for inner city criminals.......
Hillary took to the mic to burnish her ambitions, and stupidly called the black criminals "super-predators."
"We have to bring them to heel," Hillary insisted.
Black protesters showed up at her 2016 campaign events, reminding her of her choice of words to describe them.
Everyone on the left was closer to the center just a decade ago. The Dems have lurched so far left over the past decade, it's hard to recognize them anymore. Many of them literally hate this country now. Unfortunately, Republicans too, have moved to the left, now standing mostly on the political ground occupied by Democrats just a few decades ago.
Just about a week ago Biden made Trump out to be a racist by dishonest editing of Trump's Charlottesville comments today we have a bowdlerized version of Biden's remarks which in the current climate make him out to be a racist, whether fairly or not. Today, fairness don't count. Biden is on the defensive over this one and in politics, when you are on defense, you are losing.
In today's age of waging political war over trivialities and irrelevancies, this kerfuffle is perfectly in tune. Is it Eric Weinstein or Professor Murray of The Bell Curve, or both, who tell us that modern science says that nurture, as opposed to genetic IQ, has almost nothing to do, at least statistically, with grades in school or (say it ain't so) success in life?
It shows how far away the Demonrat party has moved from rational, mainstream and logical thoughts and conclusions, and what is required of its adherents to say now. Just think that in another 12 years, what is said today is going to be considered “right wing” and “un-PC” by the deranged loons of 2031.
Give it another 4-6 weeks and Biden will be on the campaign trail wearing giant fake gold chains, his hair in cornrows, and with his pants hanging down below his ass.
Biden is amazing.
He discovered the first African-American who is clean, articulate, and bright.
That ranks right up there with the greatest discoveries of all time!
“And few trouble-making kids, if you know what I mean.”
Got it. Ran it through my trusty decoder, and know what you mean. ;)
“Why do I keep seeing old quotes that I agree with made by him?”
Yesterday Fox was playing some old quotes by Nadler during the Clinton impeachment hearings that make perfect sense today. Now that the shoe is on the other foot...
I hope these hit the airwaves for all to see. Of course, they won’t.
