Sen. Cory Booker on Monday introduced a bill that would study the possibility of reparations for descendants of slaves, embracing a push that recently has caught the interest of fellow 2020 Democratic presidential candidates.
The senator from New Jersey said Monday that “this bill is a way of addressing head-on the persistence of racism, white supremacy, and implicit racial bias in our country. It will bring together the best minds to study the issue and propose solutions that will finally begin to right the economic scales of past harms and make sure we are a country where all dignity and humanity is affirmed.”

My GGGrandfather was wounded in the Civil War. He was a corporal in the Illinois Infantry. The thought that this dolt wants me to pay for “slavery reparations” to people who have never been enslaved (except by the Democrats) really pisses me off.
That’s true, but I know numerous people whose only reason for voting for 0bama is because he was “the historic candidate”. Having voted him into office, these same people were reluctant to vote him out because they would be called “racist”.
As an educated, white , male, I state unequivocally that the Africanization of America must not proceed.
Booker and his high yellow ilk must be put down and chastised. Their voice must be drowned out
If a bill requiring whites to pay in some manner for slavery, it will turn a multitude of non-racists into racists.
This crap bill is just like that anti-lynching bill. Pure BS.
It would not surprise me that Obama is behind all this racial stirring of the pot. It’s a desperate attempt to steal an election. Race card is all the rat party has now.

Well, that same year, the Republicans were stupid enough to nominate a nobody like McCain--not that the nonentities running against him for the nomination were any more electable.
They don’t want a once and for all final reparation. They want to craft it so they can keep coming back to the trough.

Kamala Harris, descendant of slave owners, would receive reparations.
Any number of whites, descendants of soldiers & abolitionists who fought to end slavery, would pay reparations.
Pass reparations, and I drop out of economy to as untaxable lifestyle.

Just once I want a proponent of reparations to explain the criteria they will use to determine who gets a check and who doesn't.
Will we be using DNA tests? Or simply asking people to self-identify? What about recent African immigrants? Do they get a check?
Study what? Of course we all know the conclusion to this study has already been written. And then every other self declared victim group will want to get in on the reparations gravy train.

Unless we rewrite the Constitution, I don’t see that happening. Everyone will have to pay, and presumably blacks will pay less because they make less. But asians will pay more. It won’t just be whites who are wondering how they got swept up in this mess.
Anyone who claims a retribution should be sent a bill for Freedom Services from all descendants of Union military vets.
Hey Cory where do I send the bill for my ancestors having to fight a war to secure the end of slavery? Also when do I get to sue the Italians for enslaving some of my other ancestors during the Roman Empire?
What’s so pathetic about this is that they’re not even pandering to people who were alive when racism was much more prevalent. People who lived through Jim Crow and real housing discrimination.
Instead, they are pandering to young people who have grown up in a country where racism is pretty much nonexistent, in terms of people actually suffering meaningful discrimination. The young snowflakes have been raised to believe in an imaginary racism. A racism of conspiracy theories and hyped up micro offenses.
The Liberals created a monster with these young people who have no sense of history. And now they have to craft policies to appease these kid’s boogeyman beliefs, so that they’ll be motivated to show up and vote.
