Cory Booker introduces Senate bill on slavery reparations
Fox News ^ | Apr. 8, 2019 | Paul Steinhauser

Sen. Cory Booker on Monday introduced a bill that would study the possibility of reparations for descendants of slaves, embracing a push that recently has caught the interest of fellow 2020 Democratic presidential candidates.

The senator from New Jersey said Monday that “this bill is a way of addressing head-on the persistence of racism, white supremacy, and implicit racial bias in our country. It will bring together the best minds to study the issue and propose solutions that will finally begin to right the economic scales of past harms and make sure we are a country where all dignity and humanity is affirmed.”

An extortionist, plain and simple. Demanding money from someone who never owned slaves for someone who was never a slave.

They are using this bill to say “the Republican party doesn’t care about slavery”.

Speaking as a Republican - I don’t. Not the teeniest hair of a rat’s ass.

Slavery ended in 1865 - many generations ago. Find me a living person who was a slave and I’d be happy to give them reparations. Otherwise, it’s just another frigging RAT money grab that our side better not go along with.

“Forty acres and a mule” in 1885 translates into “educational opportunity and job/entrepreneurial opportunity” today.

The history of “Welfare" proves that anything else is less.

And educational opportunity cannot be guaranteed if the envious have a veto over anyone’s access to a safe and orderly classroom.

Outrageous! I’m sure it sounds racist, but the people who are most interested in collecting, have been collecting for several generations, now. I believe we’re paid up.

I really HOPE they run on a platform for reparations! Anyone want to guess what the Hispanic population of the US was in 1865? Around 250,000. By 1960, it was nearly 6 million. In 2020, it is expected to be nearly 65 million.

How many Hispanics will want to pay money to blacks?

Oh...and my family was here before the Civil War. None of us ever owned slaves. My great grandfather fought for the North, helping to free the slaves. I’m waiting to hear someone say “Thank you!”

in 2008 I was convinced that people wouldn’t be stupid enough to vote for a nobody like 0bama. In 2012, I was convinced that people wouldn’t be stupid enough to vote for a failure like 0bama a 2nd time. Now, even with Trump in the White House, I’m not so sure that we won’t end up with someone like a Booker, Harris, O’Rourk or Warren the next time around. If we do, we will have ringside seats to our country being washed down the tubes forever.

The way Bush II mismanaged his presidency had a lot to do with Obama being elected.

Reparations= A ticket to your homeland plus $500.

Yeah, in Monopoly currency. Come back to America and you get paid in lead.

Hundreds of thousands of white men died in combat during the Civil War.

Hundreds of thousands of other white men died of disease during that war.

Trillions of dollars spent during and after Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” welfare scam.

Affirmative action, EBT cards, Section 8 Housing, crazy checks, welfare, WIC, etc.

Enough already!

Round up the inner city and other blacks who want “reparations” and send them back to Africa. Dump them on the shore of Ebola land. Let them fend for themselves in their ancestral homeland.

I believe that any person who has been held as a slave, should be able to seek their own reparations from their former masters.

Republicans can show up Democrat hypocrisy and introduce a bill to make slavery reparations a voluntary fund where liberal Dem Americans can signal their virtue by donating 5% of annual income to the reparations fund. Must be a minimum of 5% if they do it so they cannot throw a buck in the pot to purchase a lifetime membership in racial sainthood. These creeps already as a demographic contribute less proportionately per capita of their income than conservatives.
They’re not about to start redistributing their own income now to others

Booker, have you looked in the mirror lately? You’re black thus you already own the black vote. You don’t have to buy it with reparations
