They have to find SOME way to make this the president’s fault.
If Boeing knew that a software fix was needed, they should have advised everyone of that fact. Easily done.
When I heard that the cause of the crash hadn’t yet been conclusively determined I knew that it would only be a matter of time before CNN pinned it on the Bad Orange Man!
So it’s Trump’s fault. And CNN can’t figure out why half the country thinks they are fake news.
To me, it seems like the “fix” would have been distributed by Boeing, to the airlines/purchasers of the aircraft. ??
But maybe I don’t understand. I would not think the government would be distributing software updates for aircraft owned by other than the federal government.
Also, how would this have been a problem for Ethiopia?
I had no idea the FAA was in charge of design and software issues at Boeing...

I believe that Boeing has been working on the problem, since the earlier crash. They were not waiting for the FAA or anyone else. They, not the bureaucracy, have the foremost relevant experts.

I’ve been waiting since I first heard about this crash to see how (not if) they would blame POTUS for this.
Does the FAA have a full time administrator or is that one being held up by the resistance too. If so, I would not blame the shut down rather I’d blame the dems.
We aren’t hearing much about it, but eyewitnesses to this crash (people living under an airport flight path so quite used to seeing aircraft in normal circumstances) said they thought the plane was trailing debris as if a luggage compartment had been breached. This would not be an obvious sign of the control issues that are said to link this to the earlier crash in Indonesia. It may turn out to be an entirely different issue like terrorism (timed explosion) or faulty operations related to the loading and securing of baggage.
