Blood spilled from another US high school ... and video games are already being blamed

Once again, a mass murderer has opened fire at a school in America – this one is Santa Fe High School in Texas – and video games are already being blamed. Rather than, oh, say, gun control, or the lack thereof.

Details are still coming in. The attack happened just a few hours ago. At this stage, it appears nine students and one teacher are dead, ten more wounded, explosives were potentially found at the school, and a suspect has been taken into custody. In his segment on Fox News covering the shooting, anchor Jon Scott was chatting to a fellow pundit about the case and came out with this zinger.

"Just the fact that so many kids are awash in video games, they spend so much time in front of television screens with some of these very violent and realistic video games, that has to be something that gets looked at, but how do you police that kind of thing?"

The liberals drove God out of the public schools, and shoved perversion into the so-called “entertainment” industry.

Violent “games” are only part of the problem.

Fantasy characters are not what motivates murderers.

Real gangsters like Bill Clinton or Harvey Weinstein who aspire real careers where crime wins is what appeals to these types.

It is not the character plaid by the actor that inspires these atheists, but the very actor like Bill Cosby misbehaving, with his fck you money and celebrity, which really motivates them.

I’ve played violent games since the early 90’s.
I haven’t committed mass murder.

Also, what about the other millions and millions of kids who play the same games? They haven’t committed mass murder either.

“....and video games are already being blamed.”

Same dumshits would have blamed Pac Man 40 years ago or pin ball machines 60 years ago. They just can’t face up to the fact that there are plain unadulterated evil people out there.

Let’s see: He had access to guns, therefore the NRA is to blame.

I guess by that logic, if he had access to video games (almost certainly the case), then video games are also to blame.

Can’t have one without the other.

If it’s time to lock up guns to keep them away from kids, perhaps it’s time to do the same with video games.

It isn't video games. We're raising a generation of feminized boys who are not only repulsive to the opposite sex but incapable of dealing with rejection.

This kid in Texas pursued a girl for the past four months until she finally told him off in the middle of his entire class. He killed her first.

incorporate drugs, video games, and rejection and all contributes to mental breakdown...not guns..it is an individual thing.

You are so wrong 90% of our children dont even know who is the Vice President. Its tv and video games have so desensitized our children. Besides ourselves who allow these perverted things into our homes with the logic that it gets the kids quiet and leaves us alone for peace and quiet....Its time we took charge of our families I saw it in my daughter-in-law who refused to allow nasty killing videos into her home and her 3 kids turned out darn fine.....

So, sounds like another jilted lover went out to kill for revenge. Bet he was picked on, too, by others there, another social outcast.

If an AR was used, we know the MSM’s reply would be all GUN CONTROL! But, with a shotgun and pistol, well, it just won’t play well. So...fall back on video games.

But, the V game industry is packed with proggies — younger coders, wealthy owners and players. The left plays with fire going there. Need more popcorn!

No, you deluded a$$hole, video games did not make the boy murder other people. No, you stupid fool. It’s liberalism that tells kids that nothing is right or wrong, and that nothing matters.

Plus those f*cking antidepressants that don’t anti depress!

Agree!

My kids were so darn busy 24/7 they never had time for a video game, or TV or anything else but school, school activities, homework and sleep. A video game would have been thrown in the trash by Dad!

One turned into a CPA doing real well and the other graduated two years ahead of his sister from the same school (A & M) and now owns his own construction company which is doing phenomenal.

The collapse of the family and Dad’s involvement in it is the biggest component of these school shootings. My son would have been more scared of Dad’s reaction than the police. I blame feminism for this dynamic.

"Fantasy characters are not what motivates murderers."

It ain't the "characters", it is the action. First-person shooter games in particular....the "character" is the person playing the game. I do NOT believer that such an activity doesn't affect the mental conditioning of the person "acting out" in the game.

If it’s time to lock up guns to keep them away from kids, perhaps it’s time to do the same with video games.

It is at least inconsistent to attempt to legislate away the rights of gun owners without doing the same for people who play violent-theme video games. Anyone who tries it will be shut down by the entertainment/media/corrupt bastards club, but it might be a learning experience and inadvertently get the masses to see some ugly background to behavior modification.

(Anyone remember what happened to Tipper Gore's popularity with the left after she decried the music industry?)

I wonder what variety of “happy pills” the shooter is on?

Exposure to toxic liberalism is the cause. When liberalism replaced God in the schools the shootings steadily went up. Check the charts.

This is the best comment so far.

Ritalin and the like are the common thread, including that school stabbing in the Bronx that was reported in the NY Daily News (but didn't go "national").
