Love to hear what do-nothing kabuki "conservatives" think of this one.

A President Trump would force these "I play a conservative on TV" guys to put their votes where their mouths are.

Oh my!

This isn’t going to sit well with the Saint Cruz sect.

Can we get this thread removed in the interest of their mental health? /s

The reason these guys despise Trump isn’t because they fear he’ll govern as a liberal. They’re worried he’ll govern as a conservative and force them to expose themselves as the RINOs/CINOs (conservatives in name only) that they truly are.

Not a big Trump fan, but thank you Mr. Trump clearing up all the BS we’ve suffered through for years.

I’m tempted to go the National Review Online and troll this bit of news!!! I find the purer-than-thou, anti-Trump conservatives very amusing. Granted, a conservative argument can be made about Trump, but the “intellectuals” at NRO are so vitriolic they come across as ridiculous.

Authentic to the bone conservatives would NEVER ever mess with the original intent of our Constitution... Hence Cruz and Rubio are fakes, neither will ever be ‘natural born’ US citizens, regardless of what Harvard Law School claims.

Yeah, you know what’s really galling me?

The biggest nevertrumpers or those asking for conservative assurances from Trump are: Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney??

To quote Donald: Give Me A Break!

I understand where Cruz folks are coming from. My beef is with the DC "conservatives" like Ryan who are pretending they don't like Trump because he's too liberal. BS. Yeah, he is liberal on a few things, but that's not why they hate him. I mean, they don't hate Clinton or Sanders nearly as much as they hate Trump, and they're uber-liberal. They're terrified that they're not going to have the luxury of playing pretend conservative anymore under a President Trump.

Yes, this is a very strange election cycle to say the least.

At first I was glad Trump jumped into the race, anybody but Jeb! or Rubio for me at the time. [I was on Team Walker or Team Cruz in the beginning.]

As the race drag on, more and more “long time conservatives” have been peeled like onions. Definitely an eye opener.

It’s getting really old listening to the children cry about what candies they must be given to let the doctor look at their boo boo.

I’m sick of all the analogies and excuses. It’s an election, get on with it.

I actually heard Michael Medved balance the loss of the supreme court for a generation with -are you ready? - the risk of war with Mexico under Trump!

How are they determining “conservative”?

Self-identified as “conservative”?

Or are there a list of issues, e.g.: taxation, social issues (pro-life, freedom of religion, no gay perverts in bathrooms, right to not celebrate gay “marriages”), states rights issues, liberty-related issues?

For example, I would consider free-trade a conservative value (assuming the trade is truly free and not protectionist on the other side as is the case with China), etc.

Similarly, protectionism (of certain politically connected industries) is typically a liberal faux populist response to protect big labor and ultra-rich special interests (e.g., steel back in the days of Carnegie).

In short, kind of meaningless, unless one defines “conservative”

I noticed today that most of the traditional “Conservative media” sites like HotAir, Twitchy et al are still clinging to the anti-Trump narrative.

It’s almost as if they’re all owned by Mitt Romney or something. Weird.
